Beat Tribe Cup March 20, 2004 (Call to US Players)

Well, i finally made it to Tokyo. I met up with mukatsuku shun and his buddy Tim. We played some VF at Ikebukuro Sega. I didn't do very well, but Mukatsuku got a pretty good win streak before we quit.

It's about 3am right now and i'm pretty drunk, so I'll just end the post with: Me, Dave and socal team are going to Nishispo tomorrow. Hopefully we'll meet the other guys there!

What's up guys. We just got up. whew, what a crazy trip so far. I swear to god, it took like a million light years to find the hotel after we got off the subway. But we are here. We met up with Jerky, and Summah right now. So now I need to find namflow and kazu and adam and I should be set. That is all for now. Talk to you later.

Hey guys.. here is a quick update. First off... this place is so awesome to just roam around. Very easy to get lost.

Arcade stuff: I got to meet and play Mukki, Chibita, Oshu, Shinz, Ryan Hart, Segaru, Shu, and like about 25 other top players. There is this one guy named Ani that was just sick. It wasn't even worth putting your dollar yen into it. I ended some guys' 15 game winning streak with jeffery and he punched the machine. (his name was banana fish) I thought that was hilarious. Just like summah's said it. All you people who think Brad sucks, should come to Japan. There were like 5 or 6 Brad players who were doing the SShhh SShhh SShhh so fast you couldn't even see it. It was like he was standing still and moving at the same time.

So far the north american players I have met and had a chance to hang out with.

VF4akira, namflow, m. shun (he lives in tokyo), Brisal, madrox, Adamyuki, and a few others.

The west Shinjuku sportsland is one of the best arcades I have ever seen. Not only did I see top comp in vf4, but I saw top comp in about every game they had. I saw this one chick who was owning things in Ikaruga and she beat the game with one credit. I was blown away. At the bottom level where the vf machines are, they have this little table with a computer where you can look up any moves, frame data, ect. Also, there are chained arcadia magazines, green book, and other strategy guides. Everyone shares info to everyone if you can understand what they are talking about. I maybe won like 5-9 matches out of the many many many matches that I played. All my tricks, setups and moves worked so well........one maybe two times max! hahahahahhahah They adjust so damn fast it's sick. I loved it.

Today we are heading to the super battle opera and than I am going to watch the cirque du soliel (quidam) I have only slept like 9 hours while in Japan.

The tournament seems to be underway!

Namflow, Jerky (?), and Stompoutloud ... apologies to both jerky and to the guy in the middle if it isn't him (due to the blurriness of the picture and my poor memory I can't say for sure)...

The team consisitng of Namflow, Jerky, Kazu, Sugoroku star and pos akira has been eliminated... pos apparently put up quite a fight but lost to the other team's final member, a 10th dan Shun...

Quick update

Ohsu, Minami, Naru, Daiagana, and Yoro's team won Beat Tribe over Gerila, Haijin, AoPai, BananaTokyo, Skelton's team.

Ohsu's team has won consecutive beat tribe cups.

It seems Adam's team was in the pool of 20 teams, and only 2 teams out of the 20 could quilfy for the final 16. They lost to Chibita's team on their way to the final 16 and got eliminated.(Shinz lost to Chibita)

Chibita's team went to the final 4, and Chbita got defeated by Minami Akira and elminated.

Adam's team lost to Chibita's team. (Shinz lost to Chibita of their final matches)

Jerky's team lost to some Japanese team. POS. Akira won 3 straight and lost to a Shun player. The rest could't hold on to the lead unfortunately.

At any rate, big props for representing the U.S. and Western VF community in Japan with all those possible jet lag and unfamiliar environment. I am proud of the people who went and being a part of this community myself.

I appreciate the info your passing along. Don't take this the wrong way. But that statement doesn't say much about the U.S. team. I know shinz lost to chibita. But who did the other players lose to. Did Ryan, Adam, etc get a win atleast or were they all defeated by chibita? Anyways, like I said, don't take it the wrong way. I just want some more info /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Adam's team vs Chibita's team came down to the last match, and Shinz and Chibita were the last players on each team. So, apparently they put up a very good fight, but for the detail we will have to wait for the players as that's all the infor I have at this moment.
