Not buying anything Sega until they release vf5r...[/size]

If the company get short on the money, they will release anything that has a chance to sell.

I know this is a horrible way, but this could be our only chance to get a hand on a console version of the vf5r at this point /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

The main reason that I believe Sega not releasing vf5r, is the fact that the company wants to have both the Arcade and the Console market intact. This results in the company's not wanting the console version to compete against the arcade equivalent of VF.
So, the company releases only the introductary version of a new VF line to the console port and not releasing anything else until the next line of a new VF series. By doing this, the company can keep Arcade users intact and use the old-dated console version as a some sort of the demo version to lure people to the arcade.

I think the arcade only version of VF4FT and no news of VF5R at E3 are more than a good proof for this.

I don't know whether this would do the justice for the company on its side, but I think it is extremely unfair for the loyal console VF followers like us.

Don't you think it is better to give Sega some messages indacating that we don't appreciate the way they treat us by boycotting Sega goods for a while? If we make an official sign-up sheet on boycotting Sega until they release VF5R, I think Sega will at least reconsider what they are doing now and give us a treat that we are deserve for...

    Let's think about this. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Everyone would have to do this as a whole, for it to make an impact, which won't happen.

We are a small community, SEGA doesn't care if a couple thousand at most don't buy their sonic games anymore, if we could make a real sign-up sheet with millions of people who really want VF5R then it would be a different situation but that's not the case.

it won't be hard for me to boycott sega, since basically all they make anymore are shit games that ten years ago would've been made by ubisoft or dimps.

    Dear Sega,

If you can't release VF5R for consoles, can you export the arcade cabinets? I know some guys who are interested.

I suppose any idea is better than no idea, but that seems abit farfetched, no offence
For it to make any significant impact, we'd have to get people everywhere we could, not just people here off VFDC, to swear off Sega games until they release VF5R.
Now, considering that the western VF community, is pretty spread out and they are only few, that'd be next to impossible. We could only ask people to ask other people, so on, so forth.
Also, you'd have some people on your hands whom are fans of sega games, but not VF5R, and will probably dislike the idea. Hell, some sega fans probably haven't heard of the VF series, but are Sonic FanBoys/Girls
I suppose a sign up sheet would be abit more of a help, but it just seems like too much of a collosal task.
And besides, ultimately, I think Sega wouldn't really think much of it so long as their precious Jap community are still being fed VF5R with a spoon.
What could happen that would potentially get Sega to release VF5R here is to get Japs in Japan to not play VF5R until they release it here.
Yes yes, I know, "impossible, not going to happen", because, so long as Japs have it, they wouldn't care about us. But if that ever did happen, it would put a huge chink in their armor, and they'd have no choice, because all of their money would've just gone down the tubes... save for Sonic
    Still, that is a thought.

Sadly no one buys the good Sega games anyway so it wouldn't matter. Your forgetting no matter how bad a sonic game is it WILL sell which is why we see so many of those games. Sonic puts money in Sega's pocket so they can invest in their inner developed games.

And where were you all when Valkyria Chronicles was released? Also I think it would be best for us to wait it out longer. The longer they hold out on the port the better it is for us in the long run. I know it's painful with games like Tekken, KOF and BlazBlue coming out the same year but I honestly believe they will port it when they feel it's the "definitive version".

I agree with you TrueSonic2k, no matter how bad a sonic game is it WILL still sell. As for VF5R i believe that waiting IF a port of VF5R will come out soon is still the best option but thats just imo.

Where you been? My Sega boycott started right after VOOT had no split screen.

And as has been already said, sega's new love of releasing trash makes it very very easy to just ignore them and what they do. The company just hasn't been the same since that merger.

I don't think not buying their games is going to help matters, plus they still make some great games so you guys will be missing out.

Yeah I agree. Plus think about it, the "shitty games" we complain about and want to boycott... who here bought them before anyways? How many of us got Sonic & the Black Knight or Sonic Unleashed? It's not like boycotting will work, it'll just hurt the good franchises that already have few sales (Valkyria Chronicles)

I'm still mad that Otogi and Otogi 2 aren't backwards compatable...

Something I should mention is that a friend at SOJ who was the lead on valkyrie chronicles told me, personally, that "sega wants to hear the fans feedback". So I figure by writing on segas wall, we are doing exactly that. If someone from sega on the facebook site says we are causing trouble, im just gonnna tell him we are doing what we were asked to do.

To be fair Sonic Unleashed is a damn good game, can't say much for Sonic and the Black Knight since I don't own it.

Black Knight is a better game than Unleashed, one of the best Sonic games in a long time.
