    why is the hack listed as this? if you do f+P from crouch you'll get the elbow. you need to do FC, df+P.

    sorry it was listed as FC,df+P at the top of the hack combo list, and then I stupidly cut and pasted it as FC,f+P for the combo list, doh!

    Hey Mo, I was just curious about something.

    Minor counters, afaik, are essentially normal hits (white hit effect) that carry a damage modifier since they occur during recovery; but they give no special float bonus, right?

    So in a doucument like this, seems like you could save yourself from having to write all those "mC"s since mCs act just like normal hits in terms of float properties.

    If I'm wrong about this, let me know.

    I just wanted to differentiate mC/MC hits. For example Kage vs Akira, If I block Akira's bodycheck (b,f,f+P+K) I can mC hit Akira and do df+P - P - d+P - DP guaranteed. However if I'd MC Akira I have the opportunity to pull off a more damaging combo like df+P - P - db+PKG - ub+K+G. That is why I think it can be useful to provide mC and MC combos.

    Lastly even though mC could be regarded as a 'normal' I do think there are some unique properties. For example Jacky's df+PPP all connects in a mC situation, but you can block/duck the last P on a normal (or sometimes MC!) hit...weird.

    Tested this out a couple of weeks ago, this no longer seems to work (at least on the PS2 ver.C version).

    The change to df+PPP in Ver C is a good thing IMO...
    I keep getting the old PK-pounce (from VF2.0) taste in my mouth when I see the flop over animation.
    Ack, Pai's KK-pounce is the same thing... but I can live with it.

    god Jimbo....try Aoi's kk...ground throw(I cannot remember what it is called..u know...she grabs ur leg..then breaks it into a few million pieces)...after that...depending on how u get up...Aoi can very easily continue with her U+K+G pounce...
    massive damage....

    Ick... I figured there was something like that for Aoi, but I didn't want to speculate without seeing it for myself... I get more irritated about the scrubbliness of Jacky's df+PPP and Pai's KK than that string for Aoi. Not many scrubs will go for a ground throw...

    None of this is that bad IMO... just a little grating sometimes.

    Well..the only way for d/f+ppp to all connect successfully is to immediately hit the opponent after guarding a 'heavy attack'

    For example : Akira does a double palm...Jacky guards it..n in order for d/f+ppp to all connect...U MUST immediately hit Akira before he begins to recover. That way..all three hits will connect.

    No. The third P in Jacky's LS combo is NOT guaranteed on mC in ver.C. Go try out the scenario you described with a friend on a PS2, you'll see what I mean.

    Actually, let me change the scenario somewhat... Akira's doublepalm is -12f, Jacky's LS is 13f ex, so in that example you gave, the first P won't even hit.

    Akira's shoulderram is -13f. The first two P's in the LS combo are guaranteed on mC, but the third can be blocked. If you are trying it and it seems to be guaranteed, try releasing G and repressing it after the first hit.

    Actually..I'll admit that the double palm was a poor ass example on my behalf....
    I just needed an example of a 'heavy attack'...his double palm came straight into my mind for some unknown reason haha!

    Anyway..I got other things to discuss with u...icq~~~~~~

    Okay, my apologies for the confusion. Did more testing of Jacky's LS as an mC tool with Nengli last night. Seems like the correct answer is somewhere in the middle =P

    - LS executes in 13f. The entire string connects on MC. The third P is blockable on normal hit.
    - When the LS is used to mC a -13f move (e.g. Akira's Shoulder Ram), the third P is blockable.
    - When the LS is used to mC a -14f or slower recovery move (e.g. SPoD, Bodycheck, ESK, SJK), the entire string connects.

    So this is somewhat odd in that there are different mC properties depending on the blocked move's recovery; I can't think of any other string in the game that makes this distinction...
