I'm just about ready to scoop BBCS up tomorrow. Anyone else 'round these parts interested? I'm getting it for PS3.

Also: Someone here...was it quash? Said the game's arcade version had some problems. Were they fixed? Is this game worth it at the moment?

I plan to pick it up, but probably not this week...

But I don't think anything BB does will make the GG nuts happy. I personally like BB, though I'm not hardcore competing in the game... But I think I've heard nothing but whine from the GG fans.

Legit whines though, and many of them well-versed. But I think it's gonna be hard to please them unless they bring back Guilty Gear.

the issues i have with bbcs are mostly just issues i've always had with bb that haven't been addressed yet; bitching about the current system direction is really just where it begins.

i'd be up for teaching people the game (though i'm not getting a copy for awhile) but i can't really enjoy playing it that much anymore.

Yeah I'm not expecting it to be super serious or anything right now. I liked Guilty Gear but let it slide after Slash came out.

I guess what really attracts me to the game is the netcode, which was almost immaculate in Calamity Trigger.

Will add chanchai and cuz on PSN tonight.

I'm getting it for 360, despite Quash's warnings I am in need of a new fighting game that doesn't involve me dodging fireballs and being death juggled for a bad move.

" dodging fireballs and being death juggled for a bad move."

lol I was referring to Super Shoto Fighter 4 and Tekken. No disrespect to those other games but they aren't for me. I don't know... with BB the only character I fight that gives me that feeling is Nu or Lambda or whatever she's called now. But your right this game does have a whole lot of crazy shiz in it.

BTW, Quash, I wanted to give a shout out. I really appreciate the time you did take (in the ArcSys Q&A thread) to explain GG and BB.

I found it very insightful and I do have a lot of respect for explaining your stance and what you'd like and being pretty respectful at the same time.

Something I really enjoy in fighting game community forums (especially at VFDC) is when detailed discussion on fighting game mechanics happen.

Especially when those that know or have some perspective, do speak (doesn't always happens and I can't blame them, they don't owe anyone that time, but I appreciate it).

    oh, not a problem man.

and yeah, i'm not even hating on bb because it's a different brand of airdash fighter; melty is a good game and that shares more in common with blazblue than any other game i can think of.

I just got this in the mail. Have never played it, only the first Blaz Blue.

But can it stand up to the multiplayer of Transformers WFC???

Guess I will find out soon.

I can't tell if I like this game...

I think some of the button inputs to do the combos I want are really difficult.

Damage seems really lowered across the board. I haven't played a match yet but it would seem they are going to be long matches.

I thought they added 4 new characters instead of two??? Was I just wrong?

There are three projected characters to debut in the incoming month or so via DLC.

I believe they retail for $7 each.

    Ok, thanks Shag.

I really can't say I'm feeling this game at all. I really liked the first BB but this game feels clunky and overly difficult to me.

I was using Hazama, doing his trials, and nothing really felt THAT practical to me. I don't know exactly what has changed but I don't see myself playing this game much at all, at least until the DLC characters or balance patch comes out.

I'd skip this one for now honestly.

Eh, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. I know I am, but I figure a few more days of anger at trial mode and then it's time to start enjoying some online.

I really couldn't learn anyone but Slayer in GG. No one in BB is as easy mode for me. Bang is still a lot of fun, though.

Decided the game wasn't worth my efforts. I'm sure it's good if you put the effort into it, but requires more effort then I'm willing to put into a fighting game.

Game also seems much more strict inputwise then CT.

Arstal, that's exactly what I'm saying.

The amount of practice I feel like I would need to put in to pull off anything substantial, during a real match, is quite possibly more than I care to do with any of the characters currently in the game. I really loved Rachel in the first BB but she's so terribly nerfed it's almost hard for me to believe the developers have any idea what they're doing at all. I just don't see how they thought that level of utter nerfage was legitimate, it's pretty ridiculous.

If I use anyone, I think it's going to be Hazama in this iteration of BB, he is the most interesting character to me that seems like they're actually viable to use. I haven't totally written this game off at all, but I'm not sure about it either.

    ONE QUESTION:

Does anyone know when the supposed balance patch is coming out???[/size]

Do we get the DLC characters and balance patch by the end of August? If so, this game has a chance. If not, I can't see how there's even a chance of this game having any staying power. Without some pretty serious rebalancing, to make everyone more equally viable for use, and the addition of a few more new characters, this title will be dead before it even gets started (on console at least, though I hear the Japanese are pretty sick of it in the arcade as well)...

I think adding only two characters was mistake and is really underwhelming. I was disappointed when I went to the character select and there was only two new characters, on top of the fact that this game didn't have many character options to begin with. I seriously could barely tell anything had changed at all cause the select screen seemed so bare.

One of the bright points of the first BB was net coding and online performance. If they don't move quickly to fix these problems, which seem to have existed for a while now, releasing it on console will end up being a waste.

This game strikes me as being somewhat of a paper tiger. You go into the menu and it has modes galore, but there's not as much "meat" inside all of those modes as you would hope. The meat that is there is really overblown, for lack of a better word. It's all rapid, complicated button pressing and ridiculous meters. Maybe I'm speaking out of my depth my here, cause I haven't had a lot of play time, it's totally overcomplicated from what it should be.

The amount of meters and icons this time around is just silly. Give everyone a similar meter and get rid of all the fluff meters that don't do anything to substantially add to the game. There needs to be a more solid system base than having everyone having different meters and icons to control their unique powers. There's not enough of a solid system that I can see that warrants the addition of more fluff-meters, it's not impressive or cool, it's just over done.

If they make another game, I think they need to take a step back and make the game accessible to more people than the hardcore GG fans. Even qualifying as a hardcore fighting gamer is not enough as I can really see even fighting game vets take one look at the screen and decide learning all of the fluff up there isn't worth it, especially when you could have more fun elsewhere. VF is not a simple game but the mechanics and systems are far more solid and accessible. Everything makes sense where BB CS is daunting and confusing.

Maybe I will change my tune as I play more, but this is what I'm feeling right now.

According to the review, Rachel was nerfed because she was overpowered and the two new characters are considered difficult to play...compared to other characters in the game.
