Anyone know of a way to get their hands on a PDF of the guide? I surely don't want to pay $15+ for information that I can probably obtain from this site. Still I would like to see what's inside.

Anyone want to just rip theirs up and PDF it for us? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Seriously, this isn't cool. Dr. Deelite put a lot of work into the guide. If you don't want to pay for it, don't buy it, but stealing it is just taking a shit on him & the people who helped out with it.

I bought the guide when the PS3 version hit and was very pleased with it.

I'd say it would be very helpful to beginners and intermediates, especially since unlike VF4:Evo there is no tutorial mode in the Dojo for VF5.

There is no frame data due to legal reasons I believe.

I share my sentiments with KoD, the authors of the guide are members of this forum and I wouldn't want to gyp them.

The guide is pretty good. Wish it had vs (character) tactics though. That would have been key. Telling me how to play against Lei Fei would have been a nice addition. Definitely still worth the 15 bucks for sure (that's not much guys, come on). I read the thing all the time, even in bed when I'm not playing. I just find it interesting...

It does have tactics advice against characters. Just go to Lei Fei's page and look at the first paragraph "Tactics VS. Lei Fei" Same for all the characters.

Dude, we're talking about the Brady Games guide, not online on this site. The book you buy in the store doesn't have a vs (character) section... I'm saying I wish the soft-cover guide you buy had vs (character) information.

Thats what homeboy is saying. The book does have some sort of tactic on how to deal with a specific character. For example, if you have trouble against "Akira" you have to go to Akira's page, and on the top, it says "Tactics VS Akira"

Just got the guide last week from Amazon.com. I like it though I do wish it had an art section.

No it doesn't at all... There is a synopsis of what that characters strengths are but there is certainly not vs. information.

"You'll know who your fighting by his skill level if he breaks all your throws and dodges your combos then AVOID playing that fighter he's too skilled." - Gmoney

Should be "You'll know who you're" instead of "your".

It's a direct quote from Gmoney... I didn't want to change it because it's just priceless.

Dude, you have the old book. You need to look at the updated one. The one that says "It covers the PS3 version and XBOX 360 one". I own the book(Both versions), and when you go to a characters page, it says, on top, "Tactic VS "Blank" I would love to scan it, but is not allow in this site, for obvious reasons. Just take my word on it.

Just like illwill said. Most likely you have the old version of the book. I'm looking at the book right now. And on Akira's page, on the top, it says "Tactics Vs Akira"

FUCK! I got the old one! That SUCKS!

Are the vs sections useful, do I need to buy it again???!!!???

The vs sections are about a paragraph long. They're good, but if you already know which throws to escape / how to deal with stances, you're not missing anything critical.

IMHO most distinct part of the new guide as compared to what's on here is info on quest mode items & opponents & such.

Like I said before, is not really in depth, but more or less giving you a idea how to approach that certain character and what throw commands to enter. Is quite useful, but enough to warrant a repurchase. Unless you find it cheap.
