Can someone hook me up w/ an Evo Serial #?

The title says it all. I won't be buyin the PS2 version, due to the fact I can't play much at home, and can never do so w/ any competition. However, if you buy it, you get an item for the arcade version, which I'd like to check out. If anyone has one and will never come to Japan, if you could PM it to me, I"d be in your debt. I would buy the game, but to be honest - I'd never play. I find playing the arcade 100x more effective for training, and my fiance hates the racket the controller makes. I only got one character up to Ha-oh on Ver. C., which just didn't justify it for me in the long run. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I think to get this #, you have to have the real Japanese version, whereas most of us here in the US have the "asian" version, made for people in Honk Kong, Taiwan etc.

The easiest way I know to tell if you have the Japanese version is there'll be a little stcker on the front of the package that says "Virtua Fighter 10th Aniversary". These packages should have the special # you're looking for.

Asian Version?
That's a new one, and I've been into JPN games for ages. The only Asian versions I've ever heard of are the really cheap ones that go for $2, which are of course totally legal. (wink)

If that's the case, perhaps Zero-chan is the only one that can bail me out.

 

There are "Asian Versions" of games and systems released from Japan. One is released for Japan and the other is released for commercial NTSC-J territories. These are very different from the HK Bootlegs/Knock-offs, since these are officially licensed products.

Example:
Asian Dreamcast = NTSC-J without Modem
Japanese Dreamcast = NTSC-J w/ 33.6k Modem

 

Well, I got a Japenese version (got it on friday and ben away for a gaming gathering all weekend).
The Japanese version has a paper insert in the middle of the manual with the password.
I would give it to you GP, but I might come to Japan this summer so...
Some guys from the Norway crew might be able to help you out though, they are getting Japanese versions from Sega Direct through a friend, but I don't think they'l need the password.
