I've noticed reading the wiki that you guys refer to a string of 'predefined' moves as a canned string and not a combo, which, correct me if I'm wrong is a sequence of moves that starts with a launcher and is guaranteed after the first hit?

I noticed on the wiki that there is no mention of what I know as a 'natural-combo' i.e /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif where if the first hit connects, the following will also, effectively making it a single move with 3 hits.

The wiki is excellent btw, top work /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbs_up.gif

It's just a syntax difference, you have it right... Combos usually refer to juggling someone in this game (i.e. all hits guaranteed), while strings refer to attacking someone repeatedly without ever launching them. Canned strings are a subet of strings where all hits are guaranteed if the first hit lands.

Also note... PPP is a canned string, but it's wrong to think of it as a single move with 3 hits. Most importantly, not finishing the string is an important way to setup mind games.

combos don't only apply to launchers. Anytime you have hits that are guarunteed after an initial strike, it's a combo. For example Jacky's 46p+k gives him a guarunteed pk, even though it's not a launch.

A string where all of the hits are guarunteed if the first hit lands is a natural combo string. Lau's ppp is a natural combo, notation for that is nc. Some are only guarunteed on counter, which would be ncC.
