capcom allstars...

This might be old news. But I just found out they cancelled the game. Darn, I was looking forward to this game too.

 

Cancelled? From what I heard they were just reworking the engine, as it did not go over well in playtesting. From the movies I'd seen it was easily to tell why, the game moved more like Smash Brothers than a tried-and-true Capcom fighter.

If it is cancelled, though, all the guys who've been sending Ingrid fanart to Arcadia will sure be miffed.

 

It was cancelled several days ago by CAPCOM, even though they had said they were restrcuturing it due to poor playtesting feedback.

The official word is Capcom Allstars is cancelled.
The unofficial word is it is being reborn as another title.
From what little I saw of it, we weren't losing much.

 

Sigh. The folks at SRK confirm the same.

Yeah, the clips looked really pathetic, but I was hoping that the final release would be better. I was hoping for a SF/VF hybrid. Yeah, in my dreams.

 

Zero bought the latest Dorimaga, im sure she will confirm the contents pretty soon.

 

MVC2 XBox live also canceled.

Unfortunately, not a few MVC2 players bought an Xbox, got Xbox live (and CVS2 EO, even if they aren't CVS2 players- since they just might as well).

Those guys are fuming as hell, and with good reason.

Wow their really angry ! Seems like alot of the arcade comp's are in deep doo-doo these days ...

Aparently its Activision and Marvel demanding the Live suport to be pulled.
Capcom lost the liscence to Activision years ago, its a miracle they are even allowed to release the games at this point.

 

Grrr, Capcom released their E3 game list and no sign of Capcom Allstars (even by a different name) and no true fighting games either. The closest thing to a fighting game is Onimusha Buraiden (Onimusha Blade Warriors) which is more like Powerstone or Super Smash Bros from what I have been able to gleam about it. I am still hopeful that Capcom can someday release a good 3D fighting game. Oh well, heres to hoping.

 

A Street Fighter 4 would be better than a good Capcom 3D game I would say. Where is SF4?

 

I have serious doubts as to wether or not FAS will ever resurface. We all know that Capcom's in it really deep right now, so much as to pull out of arcades and cut back over 17 unannounced titles in development. They've even said as much that if they think the market reception for a particular game is going to be poor, they will kill the project off. From what I've been told, FAS had several very serious gameplay problems that would require extensive retooling to fix, which Capcom once said they would have to do. We consumers don't know yet if Capcom still thinks such retooling was make the project viable again. I'm sure they don't want another Final Fight Revenge-like embarassment...
