I'm pretty new to the VF scene..

I was wondering if someone could fill me on on which characters are better for beginners and which are more cut out for the advanced player.

    Thanks

I think Jacky, Pai and Lau are generally considered beginner-ish characters. You can get started with them quickly and they are user friendly.

Very difficult characters to use would be Akira and Vanessa. Akira requires strict timing on some of his better moves / combos, and Vanessa has a huge move list due to her two styles.

Most of the other characters are somewhere in the middle.

I say try the Jeffry. Simple enough imput, not too too fancy so you won't be distracted by "cool" moves. You can follow most combo starters with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif and do ok damage. Once you get more accustomed to spotting hit types, and foot positions you can incorporate at your leisure.

im no expert (far from it), but learning the character or fighting style that appeals to you most is prob a good alternative, rather then just starting with the easiest.

try every character in command training i say. from there you can asert which style or move's make you feel the most confident.

Akira is more beginner-friendly now than ever due to having easy-mode air combos ending to b,d/f+P -> b,f+P, easy mode version out of dragonlance and new easy to do moves for flowcharting. Not to mention f,f+P+K,P. He is still hard to play but beginners picking him up arent immediately overwhelmed and can keep playing and learning and having more fun doing so I think /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

In VF5 I say just pick up the character you like the most. Test and try out.

Pick Wolf; his character is hilarious.

Akira is the hardest character to play with him. I still want to learn him, and the new characters as well. I can only rely Sarah, and Pai, Aoi.
