Cheaping out against A.I.

    I was wondering ways to cheap out on A.I. (no one else remotley near me plays Vf, so no competition). So far I've got [3][K]+[G] with Kage at a distance; if blocked, the opponent will attempt to throw and you will be safely out of range, where now you can quickly follow up with [2][K] causing a foot crumple, to which you can either follow up with [3][K]+[G], [7][K]+[G], or [2][P]+[K][K]. With Akira, if you block that move of Shun-Di's where he leans forward to punch you and then leans back to kick you and theen falls down, you can follow up with an AC3.

    Jeffry--[6][6][K]--[6][6][K]--[6][6][K] Use this for cheap ring out/time out
    [P][K]--[P][K] into failed evade(not with all characters thought), if you´re lucky they will try evading the whole roung.Throw is pretty much recommenned after [P][K], but dont even think of it when fighting Lei or Lion.

    Pai [3][P][P][6][P] if the first one is blocked, last one hits.
    Lion [2][K][K]+[G] Same, but if I remember right, not against Goh and Brad.
    Lau [4][P][P]
    Goh [6][6][P]+[G]-combo [6][6][P]+[G]-combo, nothing else figured.
    Lei [6][6][K]+[G][P] works too well. Ending all his series with [2][3][6][P]+[K] works too good.
    Kage jumonji [P]+[K]--[P]+[K]--[P]+[K] zzzzzzzzzz
    Shun [6][P]+[K](blocked)--[K][K]you are out of the throw range but A.I´s still try to throw you , [1][K][G] for time out.
    Jacky ?? Slideshuffle maybe...
    Grab a low throw after blocking low rising attack, wich they often do.

    Wouldnt recommenned if you want to learn something thought...

    wolf - b,b+p+g -> b+p+g
    - f,f+p -> df+p+g
    - properly timed/distanced, the above two pretty much never fails

    sarah - b+p+k or p+k into FL, then
    - kkk or kkdk, then backflip (hit or miss, unless you get a wall stagger)
    - agains some AI, u+k, d+k+g or the 270 works better
    - if you catch them in the air with the intial b+p+k/p+k, then also just do u+k
    - okizeme with f+p,k is too good

    Lion [6][K]+[G], higher ranked players in later arcades will throw most of the time even if you're out of range. So [4][4][K],[P]+[K] combo is a great followup. This won't work against Wolf's giant swing.

    The AI will almost always do a rising attack, so use backdash to get away and then punish. With Kage specifically, use ufK+G to start to a flop combo. Also, the computer never ever pays attention to where it is in the ring. So you can force easy ring-outs on open stages. They don't evade long strings so just push them out. And the higher ranked opponents evade too much. Simply wait for the failed evade and do whatever you like (I personally like a TFT combo after. Makes your opponent think twice b/f evading again.)

    In Virtua Fighter (original) fighting against Lion:
    [2][P] all the time. He trys to evade and gets hit.
    Doesn't work when you're playing with Shun and Lion tho.

    Sarah can cheap the A.I. in Quest at highest levels by turning around, walking/sidewalking away, cpu whiffs, [2]+[K], repeat 'til boredom. The only characters this is hard to pull off on is Lion and Pai who have ultra-fast long range moves.

    Sidekick like hell.
    Backdash-throw...repeat with different throws.
    Evade-> [P][K] with about anyone, repeat.

    Kage: TFT ringout, or [4][2][G]+[P] them out
    Wolf:GS, [6][3][2][1][4]+[G]+[P]
    Shun:Drink like a shitface, then [K][K][2][P][K] like hell.
    Pai:[3]+[P][P][6]+[P] ->combo of your choice
    Lau:So easy to whore that it´s unreal. umpteen stupid combo starters that hit everytime.
    Jeffry:Sidethrow( [4][6][G]+[P]), pounce (works on everyone)

    Not that these "techniques" will make you a better player in any way, whoring gets stupid and pointless quickly, even in Evo. Arcade AI is nice for a change, different and refreshing to get some reversals in to those poor lines of code... /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

    A good (if somewhat basic) jacky cheapout is [P]+[K],[K],[4] (If they block) or keep the [P]+[K],[K]'s coming if you hit but don't knock down or computer attempts to sidestep. I've treble perfected many a stupid A.I. with this cheap shot.

    [P]+[K][K][4] with Jacky is indeed money. I finished the quest order that requires you to get three excellents against a Champion using almost exclusively this move, and all against one guy: Professor (the toughtest Lau AI). I do not feel so bad cheating against the CPU. They are so cheap themselves. They can perfectly defend their way out of so many guessing games that it makes me very annoyed. Also [4][3][P]+[G] with Akira, run up quickly and do it again. Works in Quest mode against most opponents.

    [4][6][P]+[K](full charge, guarded) [6][6][K][K]. Oppenent gets up, again.
    If [4][6][P]+[K] not guarded, wait 'till oppenent gets up, than again.

    Lion - [6]+[P][K], [K] will hit the A.I. like 99% of the time. It's an easy cheap hit. Then you can go for a [4][4]+[K], [P][K] usually for a free counter hit since they sometimes go offensive crazy after you got in that first cheap shot.

    Also they hardly ever punish you when you do [8]+[K][K] when they are about to get up. This works like 70-80% of the time.

    But yeah, it's best not to rely on these moves too much. That's not going to help you at all in the long run. A real opponent will eat you alive if you rely on these moves.

    And I know the feeling of having no one around to play VF with. Most of TX has never heard of VF it seems.

    IVP - you must be playing VF4 pre-Evo. No AI escaped any charge moves in Kumite (along with a billion other flaws in Kumite AI). Many of the Kumite flaws have been fixed in Quest.

    Quest opponents still eat a lot of stupid stuff, like sidekicks IMO. Is there a "rape Kumite AI´s" thread here somewhere? Tell me, tell me! /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

    Yes. I am playing Virtua Fighter 4 (original). Actualy they guard the charge attacks unless I start charging too late. Shortly; when they are recovering, not when they are just standing.
