This has probably been posted before but I was unable to find it! Anywho, Has anyone else gotten stuck on 68 or so wallpapers? I read in a post Mike said completing challange to get all wallpapers. So...how you get em?

You have to go through the Challenge Trials with every character. You know, the really difficult throw escape and struggle ones. That is actually next on my list of things to do. I only play as Kage and I want to get him to 100%. It should be interesting. If you have beaten all the challenges with your main character (like me /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif), go back into them and change the settings to 999 attempts and no time limit. Then, just practice until you can do them all in your sleep. That's what I do when I need to work on ETTEG and so forth. I think the hardest ones to learn are the Guard Challenge 4 (fuzzy guarding) and the Throw escape challenge A (QTE). But once you learn these, I think the hardest ones to do consistently are the struggles out of stumbling trips. Mainly because you have to do them in a row. At least, those are the hardest ones for me. Probably b/c I play pad. Also, I know Kage isn't the best at struggling.

Edit: If you're stuck on 68, there are still 2 more wallpapers to be found in Quest mode. You can get 70 with just one character.

Damn chose challanges! I tell you what those throw escape ones were actually quite easy, its the RECOVERY ones that peev me off. And worst of all, its one I thought would be easy. Jacky's [3][3][P]+[G] is quite itterating. I cant seem to find the timing, which makes me look quite pathetic to my peers! But I'm sure i'll get it when I try again tonight. I'm assuming the remaining 2 wallpapers in quest require the collection of all elmblems, which I'm not far off.

Someone should be hired to do the dirty work and redirect non-searchers towards the truth with friendly manners. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No offence of any kind to anyone particularly... /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

    15 wallpapers for Challenges
    +1 wallpaper for Kage tutorial
    +1 wallpaper for Goh tutorial
+5 wallpapers to start with (New Game)
    +62 in quest mode
    -----
    84

So, with most characters you can get 68 wallpapers just playing as them.
With Kage or Goh you can get 69.

I don't know how I ended up with 70 as Kage. I don't play anyone else and none of the other challenges or Goh's tutorial are complete. Go figure. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

PS. Valestyle, you don't get anything for getting all the emblems. Nothing. Worse still, unlike orbs, even after you've collected them all, you can still lose them back to their original onwers. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Jacky's throw was one hell for me too but I managed to complete Challenge with all characters so if someone needs some tips I can give them. I used pad. Staggers were pretty hard. My fingers got hurt! /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Remember that Lion doesnt get wallpaper, so you not waste time and effort.
Timing for Jackys throw(actually with all exc.chall throws)is just before your shoulders touch the ground. Learn to watch this to get throught quikly.

btw..I didnt find Kage hard to struggle with, but Shun and Lei.

I didn't say I couldn't struggle w/ Kage /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif, just that it isn't as easy as w/ Jacky for example. Besides, I play w/ pad (I know, no excuses) and I've only been playing VF for a couple months now (another excuse /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif) It'll come to me. But there is a reason those challenges were included, after all.

My god! Stuff the struggling, our amazing japanese players dont even struggle out of them successfully all the time. In fact they dont even do exact recovery all the time. These exercises help you yes but in no way are THAT helpfull. But since I completed the Jacky recovery excersize I must admit I have improved and recover from that blasted throw 70% of the time

Ok, so if Lion doesn't get wallpaper for his challenges, then I guess there are 63 wallpapers to be had in Quest. That explains my 70.

Off topic...Izha, did you do all the challenges with pad or stick. If you tried both, how much easier was stick over pad (on a scale of worse, equal, somewhat, justifiable, and no contest). I think that the measurable differences between the two would be exemplified by the challenges (throw escapes, struggling, CD for fuzzy guard, etc.) From what I gather, these are the reasons most people do or don't get sticks. (and lest I forget...the knee)

I used a pad. I dont have stick, and I have ever even seen one and I dont need one. Passing challenge 14 times with a pad proves that they´re as good as sticks.

btw..My knee succes rate is currently about +70%(assuming from replays) during matches, but I have used Akira so long only with a pad and I always attemp atleast one knee in one match, that´s how I got used to it.

Anyone know what needs to be done to get wallpaper #62 (i think that's the right number)? It's the second to last Aoi one, right before the one with a white background in which she's holding an umbrella.
