Is there an e-mail address to send messages to Sega? I looked on the UK and US sites and there's no link anywhere to send messages.

Surely it's not just letters they accept. Sorry if this has already been answered somewhere else on the forum.

    Thanks.

I tried to google but it looks like snail mail is the only way to contact them =/
maybe the email address is only shown on the japanese site?

Im just curious, why do you want to contact sega?

Well, it's Am2 actually - but Sega as a last resort. I know it won't achieve anything but I just want to send messages to tell Sega to come out with a small update to fix the Gold treasure chest mess (giving gold as items when you have already purchased everything in the shop - it's like saying you receive a prize for winning and then not actually giving it to you).

Either that or just to tell them not to have the same ridiculous idea in the next game (VF5R/VF6). It's a stupid oversight and just makes me think that the developers are trying to go out of their way to punish the players - not only do we rarely get prizes in Quest Mode, but 90% are useless Gold bags and it seems to get worse the further into the game you get. I haven't seen a Green item prize for ages. Ever since I got to around 95% items for Kage and Wolf, even the characters that only have around 70% items still rarely see anything other than Gold. It's obviously programmed in that once you get close to completion with any character, the game stops giving out useful prizes.

Plus, how about Player Matches and Ranking matches giving out prizes? Just like versus mode.

Well, I can contact Sega of America in a way; but to ask for an update of any sort is unlikely anyway.

Besides, that's shouldn't be seen as a problem. I have 100% items and 300K gold that will never be used. Oh well; only crap items can be won in regular matches anyway.

Do you know the definition of "arcade port"?

  6. LemmyIsTheGame

    LemmyIsTheGame Well-Known Member

No, because it's an arcade port with additional material (Quest mode, online menus, dojo mode etc). It's not just a rom dump.

I know an update is very unlikely but I would like to express my thoughts on the matter.

Plus, I think it is a problem - especially seeing as it takes so much time to get 100% items. Fair enough if you only play as 1 or 2 characters but when you are trying to get as much done as possible with all 17 it becomes ridiculously frustrating to find money bag after money bag. And as I already mentioned, getting close to completion with one character makes it that much longer work for the 16 others as it purposely holds back items. It seems to affect the whole Quest Mode rather than just that particular character - just as the opponent's win loss record is universal across all Quest Mode, so is the item frequency. Because of the way the game works I cannot see achieving 100% items with any character - it is designed for people who have one character only and for people like me, the game becomes broken and is made impossible to find all prizes.

I also disagree that "only crap items can be won in regular matches". Some of the best items are in treasure chests. Tropical tan for Vanessa, Stubble for Akira and Wolf, Chest hair for El Blaze, Wolf's white head dress, Kage shirtless, El Blaze's different colour Blaze masks etc etc. The prizes in the matches are usually more special than the ones in the shops.

I think the way they wanted it to work was you would get 100% items with one character and then when you went to use a new character you would have a bunch of money (from the secret you get for completing a character 100%) to buy out the whole store and just fight for item battles.

However, if it's true that getting close with one of your characters ratchets up the difficulty finding items for the others then that is a bug that should be noted (if not addressed...) Quest mode is pretty good and it's actually a lot of fun.

I too have had no luck in getting any character to 100% items and emblems and 100% rivals defeated. Seems like it would take around 100 hours in quest with one guy to finish with 100% for every category.

Plus, when the game is on expert difficulty, you are going to have to play some opponents many, many times to beat them. Certain AI characters I beat on and some (even lower dans than the ones I've beaten) take me ten or more fights to beat.

I played a 6th dan Vanessa yesterday and it took me 8-10 matches to get the win. Then I'll play a Hunter Vanessa and win hands down. Some of the AI characters are really tough despite their lower ranking.

    AHAHAHAHAHA

and here I was worrying that this thread was going to be insufficiently funny . . .

On a more serious note, I take it you're using the bradygames guide and verifying that the items you're missing are random battle rather than tourney items?

I can't remember exactly how long it took me, but it was definitely no more than 30 hours. I can see it taking a lot longer on Expert though, like you mentioned.

Re: I can't finish quest mode

There's no need checking the guide. Each character has 10 tournament items and they are all coloured tops and bottoms for outfit A and B, so I know how many of those I have won for all the characters. It's all the other items in battles that are coming up less due to my progression with some of the other characters.

And there's nothing gay about liking Kage's shirtless customisation as it's a great radical change to his look.

Thanks for your help, but it's the green and red items' that have virtually stopped appearing - even for characters that only have 60-70% items, they have all but disappeared and all I see now is Gold.

Re: I can't finish quest mode

I do feel it is either a bad bug, or is designed this way to be more 'evil' to players. But I also enjoy Quest Mode and lately, this has ruined my enjoyment.

I play Quest on Expert but don't think that has affected my progress as I only occasional lose on the opponents. My win ratio is between 85-95% for all characters and most times I play I don't lose a match.

Green items have always been hard to find as you're more likely to get orbs (in the early stages) and Gold (later on), but now I haven't seen one for about 6 days. And before that I only got one or two.

Whenever I land on 5s or 7s and I see a balloon, that used to get me at least 5 or 6 prizes, but lately it has been 10 gold bag prizes everytime (even with character that still need 20+ green/red items). If getting to 90% items with 1 character does this to the game it is a huge bug and needs fixing.

They don't, I got 100% and I don't have any of those except the free one that came with the patch (e.g. nose bandage for Akira).

There's three downloadable Item Packs from the Xbox Live marketplace. The first pack actually had some items (three per character), but the second and third ones only had a hairstyle and a lightplate per character in each.

There was also one free item with the last update that they did.

right. it's weird, but i don't think there will ever be a patch to fix this. it's not a bug or something, just lousy/lazy programming.

It would be a much better fix if they gave pullers a loss and rank bar hit. Items, shmitems.

Re: I can't finish quest mode

I agree that also needs fixing. As for the items, a lot of people say they don't care about items but they are all being hypocrites. Unless they've got costume A or B set to default all the time (which I seriously doubt), then they DO care about items and customising characters.
