As long as I can understand what a person is communicating, I'm fine. Though on a forum, it definitely is best for people to stick to "common speak." I have to admit though, I tend to use my own terms (surprised people don't get upset with me for using them).

gouki1000, if you have the PS2 version of VF4, go to Trial Training for your character. There is a trial that teaches you how to deal with low punches.

And please don't use Tekken terms here, there is no d+1 in VF. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif It's low punch or d+P. Thanks. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

Tekken good. Tekken in VF forum bad.
I'd also like to add that distancing youself from your opponent can neutralize lowpunch pokers. Take a few steps back and they'll whiff. Come in with mids with reach and you'll clobber those fools.
If they're countering you mid-can, dont overextend your combos.
You can also try jumping moves. Nothing worse than getting pounded by someone who uses vanilla jumping punches.

This is how I originally started countering players that used low punch alot, but you'll find it just turns the entire game into a low punch fest. A better thing to do is learn how to crouch dash backwards at the right time and counter, also use any low punch sabakis your character has, they tend to work well if the other player is getting predictable with them.

to counter d+1 simply low parry into countering with jin's gut punch; tag on a ewgf, do a, wait a minute, we're talking about low punching, not d+1ing like in tekken right? oops. /versus/images/icons/wink.gif

no seriously, it leaves the opponent with lost initiative if blocked; just put the pressure on once you block it either high or low. as for dealing with it as an interrupt, try fighting slightly out.
