What can Lion do to deal with low punches. Particularly fast ones eg: Akira.

    Thanks

All low P's are 12f... For every character. (that includes Akira)

Sabaki them? It's the same tactic for any character. Use a special high to launch them. It'll teach them.

Lion's low punch is a frame slower than others. On the upside, Lion's low punch has a bit more reach than others (or at least most).

If Lion is at a slight advantage (or the opponent's a bit late), Lion can do u+K or b,f+K to hit a low punching opponent.

Lion could always block and elbow, knee, or low punch back which would be the standard response.

Another interesting tidbit is that when Lion is in closed stance, if the opponent blocks Lion's low punch and Lion does f+P (from crouch), the opponent will get MC'd with the uppercut if he did a low punch. Weird property for that move and not something you should do too much (an elbow will MC Lion). But it's an option if your opponent just low punches as a response to everything.

Lion could also low parry, but I don't think it's worth the trouble.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif jumps over low punches for an easy /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif float. It's safe too.

    Also i think /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif jumps over lows too but who cares - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif FTW, srsly.

Lion has some special high attacks that can be very useful:

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is a very good move that is both special high and half-circular (it will punish people that dodge to Lion's back).

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is a good extension of the above move that works surprisingly well and is VERY delayable (which makes it a good special high).

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is another good delayable string, which makes it a good special high.

TRSF --> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif has potential, but it's much harder to use in a match than the above.

DM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif and the other ways to use this move out of strings is tricky to use in combat, but they're not completely bad moves and they combo. Just have to pick your moments well with these attacks.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif is a risky special high that has more potential in okizeme situations, but is wide open to being punished (I generally don't recommend it, despite how much I do use this attack for fun).

Special high them, counter them, DM > P+K.... there are plenty of options. Good thing Chanchai came in on that note, it would've made my mind shut down to try to get those off the top of my head with all the finals studying wracking my brain >_<
