Alright I am having a serious issue dealing with people who sidestep. I cannot seem to keep my opponent from stepping my moves outside of throwing them occasionally. The half circular moves work somwhat but i am still having a really hard time.

    Any suggestions?

Go into dojo mode, set your opponent to sidestep and you will be able to find out which moves can hit them when they attempt to dodge you.

try delayin your attacks as well. the evade is an anticipation not a reaction most the time and if your opponent evades when you dont do anything, he'll get a failed evade and you can take advantage of that. Look at times your opponent tries to evade and stick in a delayed dashin elbow with akira.

Fake those fools out! Then follow-up with whatever you want!

Most sidesteppers will try to step you after you've rocked them with one of your strings or combos. Your first reaction is usually "Hey, I'm hitting them, let me keep the pressure up!" But a good player will anticipate your attempting another combo and will just step it. What's worked for me is to try and realize when you just rocked your opponent and do a quick guard to see what he/she will do next. This probably isn't the best strategy, of course you'll want to implement your circular and half circular moves as well.

46p+k has an evade direction to his back. Most people feel comfortable dodging into the screen so if you use this move with akira's front side facing the screen you'll have more success with this move. Akira also has powerful delay options such as crouch dash single palm, de or delayed yoho.

Edit: Watching foot position and evade tendencies are an advanced tactic after you've monitored your opponent's reactions during the match.

The CPU will simply sidestep EVERY single move of Akira's.

To get a successful evade do you have to tap 8 or 2 while they're in their start up animation? How late/early can you successfully evade?
