Dealing with SS and lows in FL

I was wondering if some of you could help me with this, I'm having problems when using moves that go into FL stance actually being able hit my opponent (even on advantage), I find side step is the worse thing for me because the only move that seems to hit (that i'm aware of) is /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif and even that one only seems to hit a small evade upwards (not downwards though). It seems to me Sarah is both very linear in this stance and has a poor set of quick(?) mids to use in this stance also as I find any low difficult to deal with aswell. I also find it almost impossible to setup /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/n.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif aswell against anything but the low level computer opponents, any tips for setting this up?
Lastly I'm not a fan of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif from FL stance as I never seem to be able to use anything after it, what are good moves to use after this?

Throw evaders when in Flamingo! You should really be looking to land the gatling kick throw. It's the main reason I go to flamingo stance. I love opponents whose first reaction to Sarah going flamingo is to evade... I've been told that OM is better than DM vs. flamingo, but have yet to face someone that has reacted that way.

I don't like FL sweep... if the sweep hit, I could have landed the gatling kick throw. But /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif//forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif are nice options IMO vs. evading oppoents.

The only other full circular FL attack I can think of is /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, but I have to say I don't use it much...

You're right, FL /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is half circular. If your opponent evaded to Sarah's front side, you miss. Up and down is relative to your stance and which side of the screen you're on.

I like the FL /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif hit throw, but the kick comes out way too slow to use against aggressive opponents and rarely connects against very defensive opponents that simply crouch and guard when faced with flamingo. If they were standing (and blocking,) the gatling hit throw would have done more damage.

You can follow up the low punch sabaki with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, but this combo is not as reliable as it was in VF4. You can probably do more damage now by /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif-canceling out of FL into /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. (Something else I've been meaning to test to find max combos vs. each character...)

Use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif for all your flamingo needs and stay away from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif since the opponent will get hip to your trick and block the elbow and duck the flamingo entry. Instead try buffering /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif to get the fastest /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif possible. If you are really good buffer this off a hit or blocked high punch for best timming and lockdown. The problem that I see is that your opponent dosen't respect your flamingo. First you might want to watch what they normally do and then react to it. Here are some tips for body position of opponent and proper reactions to help you force or condition them to gain a more sucessfull flamingo:

Opponent /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif immediately
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif Risky, but conditions opponent fast to stand next time.
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif Need MC, but will serve as a good piece for starting or to add a connecting piece in your flamingo mixup.
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif Best if done close to a wall to get wall stagger and setup /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif crumple. Then it leads to great wall damage.
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif if sabakis,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gifcancel,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif combo(weight and stance specific for each character.)
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif then /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif(Setup for delay /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif)
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif(CH) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gifCancel,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gifCancel,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/n.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif is meant for when your opponent is second guessing themselves and hesitates to attack aka CONDITIONED. Any move that seems very big in flamingo is meant for only conditioned opponents. I will write more later when freetime arises for regular standing opponent and evading opponents from flamingo.

Best of luck sarahs ^_^

An immediate FL /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif works too on advantage mainly after moves like /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif.

Those are Sarah's +4 on guard and an immediate FL /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif will beat /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or immediate FL /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif will beat opponents /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif.

Often I've found that, once your opponent knows not to use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif anymore, then you can start using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif out of advantages(their disadvantages) too. Sometimes people don't know any better, and are constantly trying to strike Sarah out of flamingo advantages.

---
It's tough sometimes cause you'd think that your opponent would learn their lesson after getting kicked in the dome, so you go to a new move to stop the next choice but they pick the one they got rocked for again, and it actually works for them. If the stove burnt your hand 6 times, why do people think it's not going to on the 7th? Even if it doesn't on the seventh isn't really the point, it's the fact that some people play braindead, don't take it into consideration and just go "through the motions" and get into some bad habits. How many times you gotta smack somebody's hand before they stop putting it in the cookie jar?

Sometimes I've been real successful in flamingo when I don't overestimate my opponent, and so just use the same flow over and over(because they try to take the same exit everytime). I tend to not like playing opponents like this sometimes though because it's teaching me to play in a robotic pattern and it's not helping me get any better, cause I suck anyway and I need to get better.

Anybody play opponents that ALWAYS /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif after Sarah's blocked /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif? Even after getting FL /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif'd?

Yah... I got 2 low punch reversals against a very robotic player playing online at Chief Flashe's house a couple of weeks ago. I basically saw everything he had to offer after just 2 rounds... Just like you Slide, I face the same problem of becoming a robot myself and just outputting the same go to flow charts... hopefully the intelligence and knowledge of the XBL community will improve... I want to be more versatile in how I fight and react to given situations, but when fighting someone who always does the same thing I end up hurting myself... I've been giving some of my opponents too much respect... they're not going to change.
