1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Hi! I mained Vanessa, and I always play her in offensive stance. Defensive is a little hard for me. Any help?

    Thank you /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Weird, usually people ask for advice on how to play OS (offensive stance). In fact there's *far more* discussion about DS (defensive stance) in this forum - just check the threads below the one you hastily created ;)

If you really need a quick-and-dirty guideline to get you started on DS, here's my advice:

    UP CLOSE

If you are at disadvantage (usually meaning your opponent just blocked your previous move) --> choose between [1] [P] , [3] [P] or block.

If you have the advantage (usually meaning you blocked your opponent's attack) --> choose between [P], [6] [K] or throw.

    FROM A DISTANCE

    Alternate between [3] [K] , [6] [6] [K] or [4_] (backwalk).

If you are new to the game don't try her other defelcting moves for now - they require intricate guesswork that you might find difficult to grasp. Instead try randomly throwing out some low punches, [6] [P] strings and the good old tornado kick once in a while to keep your opponents honest and you're set, insta-DS!

Once again, check out the other threads, this advice will only take you so far :X3:

...good choice of character btw :D

This is a nice outline by... uh someone.

Dang, had I know you were a pedo I would have said we have kids at NorCal gatherings so you'd come to one. :\

Disagree. Jeffry/Wolf/Goh/Akira are better characters in the sense you'll learn the system far easier.

pfff I don't get down like that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif just weird to see a 12 year old that likes VF /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

I have been busy the past couple months and unfortunately I will be tied up till after the holidays

I ordered a custom stick from arcade-in-box, damn thing is expensive but the talk is beyond good about it and I get a one year warranty so that's good, done using pads.

I dunno maybe if I can free up some time early NOV but that's the best I can do and It's not guaranteed 0_o

Thanks for the advice. I like offensive stance because offensive is fast and fun. I think defensive is hard for me because its slower (in my opinion) and I never can finish combos.

My big brother got me into Virtua fighter when I was 11. He plays Jeffery and might main Taka if VF5R comes to 360.

P.S. Kind of a silly question but, why did they change Vanessas skin color?

Let's not get into that - what's important is that if you play Quest Mode enough you can win a special item that makes her skintone darker ;)
