    A big thanks to everyone that attended this event. Without your attendance and enthusiasm, there would be no way we could of made this happen. A special thanks to Plague and Catherine for the late night setups and hospitality. GoatCheeseBlues for a ton of equipment, that karoake machine finally served a purpose. The rest of socal for housing, driving and hospitality. It was a lot of work, but in the end it was worth it. Also Big Big Props for Sanjuro and SH_ for helping out with the tournament. Everything went silky smooth, and ahead of schedule. I dont think anyone could of stopped maddy from hitting the start button /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif Also HUGE PROPS to people who laid down extra "BEER" money. (you guys know who you are, we really appreciate it) thanks to Jerky for getting that extra special footage. Also On a personal note, thanks to Yosuke and Kazu (team GODZILLA) that showed me Lei-Fei weakneses in very high level play. That arcadia tier list is no joke.

    All and all this tournament was a blast. Let me emphasize that again it was AWESOME. Being an organizer for the first time, especially of this magnitude, Im still reeling in shock in how smooth everything went and the enthusiasm speechless. As mentioned a couple of times, call out the dedicated players and people will respond SHHH SHHHH SHHHHH!!!! I hope to get the dvd out in 2 months. Great job guys, I hear some rumblings about an event happening in August. I hope everyone can catch up with some lost hours of sleep /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif Thanks again guys.

    Im sure im forgetting some people, but I'll get some sleep and get around to everyone /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    P.S. If anyone has extra pictures or media please pm me. Also sorry if I seemed rude or quiet to anyone, I was really lacking sleep and slightly underprepared for running the tournament. I think I'll pace myself better next time. If i had to do it all over again, i would do it all over again!!

    I have to say that this tournament was spectactular. Great kudos to everyone involved. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    Speaking as a hardcore tourney gameplayer, this had to be the best event I attended. (Evo2K5 only near to comparison) /versus/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

    I know speaking as a tourney event organizer, I couldn't come close to setup something of this magnitude at this moment. You have set a new standard and really inspired me to hold an event in the near future as great as this to keep the VF spirit and magic alive in NA. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

    Thanks to Plague and Catherine for the setups and thanks to Alex, Sanjuro and SH_ for helping out with the brackets. This was an awesome event all across the board. That place was packed!! It was nice meeting everyone, some old faces, some new. I'm sure we'll meet again.

    Congrats to Yosuke, Kazu and Myke!!

    Let's do this again next week!!

    This was one absolutely amazing event that will be fondly remembered for a very long time. Everyone was just so damn cool and fun to be around that it's a shame it had to end.

    I was truly impressed by, and proud of, the SoCal guys for organising and executing this event to near perfection. All you guys fucking rock! If this has set the tone for things to come, then I look forward to next event, whereever it may be, and will try my best to be there.

    Congratulations to Yosuke and Kazu on the 1st and 2nd placing. Their level of play was consistently high and always inspiring for me to watch. Watching them duke it out in the finals was extremely intense and exciting. Other tournament highlights for me included:

    - The venue was top tier, and the price (only $10, WTF!!!!) was unbeatable!

    - The laughs! OMG, I was even busting a gut during a tourney match thanks to Jerky yelling out "FIX THE FORUMS!" LMAO!!! /versus/images/graemlins/lol.gif

    - The one-liners! Typing out the various quotes and sayings don't really do them any justice. But, the Rocky quotes were the fucking BOMB! "Yo, Tommy.. I didn't hear no bell..." /versus/images/graemlins/lol.gif I plan on re-watching the Rocky movies again soon!

    - The general crowd participation overall was just electric. Yelling out hits in combos, getting all excited over everything (and nothing), Maddy yelling out "oooh! oooh! oooh!" during heated matches.

    - Catherine's match against Shag with a nail-biter finish!

    - SSHH! SSHH! SSHH! Much love for SH_ during the tourney! He played amazingly well, and it was great to see him rise in his game with the crowd's support when the chips were down! /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif Just like Rocky! hah

    - "PRESS SELECT!!!! PRESS SELECT!!!! SAVE IT!!!"

    - Plague: "I need a DV tape"
    Audience: "..."

    Finally, the SOCAL guys, and the outside helpers, anyone who contributed their time, resources, equipment and general help, I thank you all for this fantastic experience. You all did a tremendous job and I look forward to seeing you again.

    SoCal group is holding a post tourney meeting soon. If you had any gripes about the tourney or weekend, no matter how small, like camera getting flashed in your eyes during the final 8. Please let us know via this thread or PM.

    This way some of this information can utilized for the August or next SoCal event.
