1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. Yeah, post that screenshot, otherwise don't do like 10 posts in this thread when you could have done 1 big post with screenshots /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

    Also check your facts...
    Jacky was Jackey, not Jackie.
    Jeffry was Jefer, not Dural.
Kage was called Yagyu very early on (I don't have a screenshot of it, it's been
one of my #vftrivia questions though)
    Sarah was Sara.

Urgh, and to think we used to marvel at the "realism of the 3D effect" back then......

Now it's just painful to my eyes.

I'd assume Lau vs. Yao might be people at AM2 fighting about romanizing a Chinese name. How many different spellings of Mao Tse Tung have you seen?

Maybe someone w/ Chinese background can elaborate.

On some of the VF 1 cabinets where the list of chars. were, Akira had some desert rag (Don't know the name for it) on his head and I think his name was Sheba or something like that. Was this an early Akira? I have a pic if anyone wants to see.

Urm those pics are from early builds with the characters shown at different polygon levels ranging from 200 to 1500(I think) polygons per chara

I was talking about the VF1 days of "my arm is made of two rectangles and a triangle" in general.

Hey, look at the other polygon-based games at the time. Try playing SNES Starfox again. Urgh.

    Three triangles = ship

I have VF beta images floating around the ol' HD, lemme try and dig them up.

Well it still is better than playing with only the wires /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My first 3d game was with wires only.

oops, remote linking to geocities images isn't allowed.

Using a different referrer I was able to see the image. My buddy mr. bungle had seen this image and had some information on it, so I'm hoping he'll hop in and explain what's up with this. I'd be willing to bet the "dural" was a mistake from some copy editor or press person and not something actually done in the game, but I could be wrong.
