Yeah may seem like a strange topic for a post but I was just wondering if anyones had a chance to listen to it yet and if so what they think of it. Its been so many years since her last one I was wondering if she'd be able to keep her material fresh, but, after only buying yesterday I can honestly say I think its amazing. Some tracks are just like the old ones, kinda trippy, hazy songs and some are just like Here with me or No angel. If anyone else has got it yet I'd like to here what they think of it.

Yes White Flag is track 1 on the album. I really like it, though its been really milked by radio airplay now which is a shame. Overall its a very nice album to listen too. My favourite tracks are 3 and 11, Life for rent (the title track) and See the sun. Her ballards still have that soul destroying/ heart breaking kinda feel to them but its a good album to really chill out too. Her lyrics seem far more open and honest this time round. Theres a cool hidden track at the end as long as you let track 11 run till about 7 mins long as it starts then.

It's a fantastic album. I like #2 (Stoned) and #8 (Sand in My Shoes) a LOT, and #11 (See The Sun) gets a lot of listening time too.

Unfortunately the copy protection is a bitch. It keeps crashing my PC and I've heard that it can actually damage some hardware, although I don't know if this is an urban legend.

Not too sure bout copies as I bought mine from the shops. Didn't realise this till the other day but she released it simultaneously on the same day over here and in America. She hired a plane to fly her and played a gig in London at about 8 in the morning and got into New York and did a gig about 8 at night. What a woman.

I know so far that the albums top of our charts and has already shifted over 250,000 copies already. I'm sure it can match No Angels 12 million worldwide though just give it time.

Yes Sand in my shoes is another favourite of mine. Hope she continues her good work. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ah, maybe I was unclear. My copy is not ripped, it's also from the shops. I'm sure the copy protection would stop me if I tried to rip it, and I'm sure it goes a great job. Unfortunately a side-effect of this form of protection seems to be that it causes some problems for legitimate users like myself as well as for those that try to make an illegal copy.

Ah right ok. Yeah shame about the side effect an all at least it stops copies being done relentlessly.

She will be performing on Letterman today.
I think that we are a couple of weeks behind the US with the Letterman show, I'm not sure though.
But I have heard one of the songs on her album, and it sounds great.
I'm looking forward to her performance on Letterman later on tonight.

They had a cool clip on Letterman were they sent 15 guys in Gorilla outfits, and one dude with Dracula and Moses outfit into a little shop. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Urmmm yeah thanks for that insight. I don't have a coffee table either and I'd only class myself as obsessed if you call buying both her albums and enjoying her music as obsessed. Is this what qualifies as obsessed these days??? Christ I should be institionalised about my VF obsession if this is the case.
