I never noticed this thread before. It's interesting and nice to see what people do for a living.

Me, I'm an Internet Sales Manager for a Mazda dealership in Minneapolis. When I started it seemed fitting since I've owned 5 Mazdas in my life. It also seemed fitting since I've been bringing my cars here for service since 1994, about 11 years before I started working here.

The only time I strayed from Mazda was with a 1999 Honda Prelude. Man I liked that car, but it had nothing on the MazdaSpeed6!

Well yea Real estate brokers do work by commisions and depends if they are renting space in an office but seing one homeless that is funny suprised the guy didn't go around squatting

I'm researching in psychology regarding the effects of dementia amongst elderly. I'm in a work-group of psychologists and doctors and it's about optimizing living and routines for those affected while at the same time summarizing recent research. You don't want to get old in Sweden - you get treated like shit believe me. Before this I was a teacher at upper secondary (psychology and language) and this is something I'll probably go back to later on as it's fulfilling (albeit stressful).

 

I'm apparantly a slide tester. That's what some people tell me.

 

I've basically been a bum since I got out of school. I've done a lot of freelance work in web development and other computer related stuff, but I haven't ever held a full time job in my life. That's more or less by design though, since I've needed a lot of time to work on the side projects I have going.

One is a very unique online game website. I was hoping to get launched by the end of the year, but it's looking like I may not make it. But it's not like I have a hard deadline or anything, so I guess it's done when it's done.

The other is a new operating system for computers. It's built on a pretty revolutionary idea that allows you to take high level concepts down to the metal, and achieve a code saving of 10 to 1 on average compared to writing something in C for a conventional OS. I've been working on that one for about 3 years now but due to general laziness and too many video games, I still don't have a working prototype, and I really don't want to start shopping it around until I have it running on actual hardware. I'm actually pretty close to the phase where I can start working on that though. Most of the design issues have been hammered out, so an actual hardware implementation is the next major step. I was actually thinking of targeting the Dreamcast for the prototype version, as it has a simple PC-like architecture and more or less represents the minimum spec target I'm shooting for.

So yea, no job per say, but I keep busy.
