1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

lol, just a bit too far, I think Jared gets the point.

I don't think too many people here play smash, or at least at a near competitive level. Smash is a REALLY new school game, though it definately has it's depth and execution tech. I <3 Fox, dair->shine->wavedash->upsamsh.

Oh and I'm pretty sure the DoA topic has been beat to death. If not by me, prolly by Vpai in the past.

    Good stuff /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah, I played DOA for a long time, and I still like it (Hitomi and Christie 4 life). I played Smash for a while, but I'm waiting for Brawl to get into it for real. And once VF5 comes on the 360, I will get into that too.

I would like to know though if any characters in VF can relate to these two (see my above two characters), fighting-wise or personality-wise.

Viper, you joined the forum? This place is like a DoAC conversion ground.

Fighting wise, Akira is somewhat similar to Hitomi play, at least in that both are good at forcing whiffs and punishing them, and also have option select defense (hitomi punch parry, akira punch sabaki, holds and reversals etc.) However Akira can actually launch lol.

Christie I guess you would say Lion, but Lion doesn't suck lol.

I haven't left DOAC. But if another worthy fighter comes to 360, of course I will take a shot. So far I don't hate or dislike either DOA or VF. I will see if I get me a copy of VF4 to get started on the basics ASAP. I did hear that Akira is a lot harder to play than Hitomi (actually most people here have seem to said that Akira is one of the hardest characters to play, not sure how true that is though). If I could get character parallels of fighting styles from both games (and maybe learning curves of VF characters), that would be nice so I have an idea ahead of time.

I'm afraid accurate parallels between the games are pretty hard. This is because DoA4 has too much inheriant exceptions amoung it's different character classes. I will say this.

Akira is looks similar to Kokoro but plays more like Hayate/Gen Fu. I'd also like to say that Kokoro is a very very PATHETIC excuse for an Akira rip off. Koko's 12 frame throw is Akira's SPoD btw.

Sarah, Goh, and Shun have no DoA equivilants gameplay wise (Shun DOES NOT play like Brad Wong).

Jacky is like Jann Lee except better.

Kage is kind of a like every ninja mixed into one. He's questionably cheap but I'd rather play him than Ayane/Busa any day. Dealing with TFT is reasonable, dealing with punch hold Izuna is not lol. Also Kage has his VF equivilant to the Ayane back punch.

    Vanessa is like Leon.

Brad is like Zack, except less funny but also less ambigiously gay.

Aoi is.... ummm.... Lei Feng???? Both have high defense options, but L-Fang does more damage.

Pai is.... umm.... Lei Feng again??? Has defense options, is really beginner friendly kind of like Jacky.

Tina has no equivalent in VF

Lion has no equivalent in DoA (Christie DOES NOT play like Lion)

Wolf is Bass, except playable and infinitely more fun. Giant Swing!!!

Jeffery is sort of like Bass/Leon mix I guess. Actually a lot of fun to play.

I don't know how to play Lau but he reminds me of Kasumi hardcore lol.

That's the best I can think off.

These character equivalents are actually quite funny as DoA was originally based upon the VF framework... It's gone its own way of course, but a lot of things can still be found.

Helena is about as equivalent to Pai as you can get I'd say.

Yeah I can see that. I'd say a hybrid of both Pai and Lei really.

On DOA4, I use Ayane. However, when I play virtua Fighter, Akira is the man to beat. I would say that's pretty opposite. Wouldn't you? Although I do use Jacky as well.
