Last month I was playing with my friends Alucard (AK) and Shinobi (KA) and our friend BigJoe (JE,VA) came to visit.

Of course, we wanted to see how we ranked with BigJoe's Jeff and Van.

I saved the replays, but since my PC died I could not capture the videos. Yesterday, a friend came with a very small camera and I decided to test the camera by recording the T.V. playing the fights.

The video came out terrible /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif
The camera was shaking, very low sound and my voice giving instructions to my other friend.

    But, never the less...
Please download the videos and give us your comments. We want to get better but we are a very small league so if you can help us by pointing out our mistakes, that would be really great.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the vids. I have watched some your group's vids before and these are much better gameplay wise. Keep it up! /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hey Heta, looks good man. Tell the Kage player (Shinobi) that he shouldn't use 66p+g+k unless it hits into wall. Kage can be punished afterwards even on hit.

Thank you for the matches. This goes to Alucard as he uses Akira. I like Alucard's Akira. Isn't he a pad player? I thought he was, and then watching him play, it gets me to think that he must of switched to stick.
    He's got a clean input& agressive Akira.

A few things I've noticed were that he doesn't use 2_3P,P much and looks to mash TEs after a throw counterable move gets blocked. DTEG is a valid option in VF5 and pretty much the best option in -10 or above, so practicing the technique would be pretty beneficial.

When playing against Van or Wolf, try buffering the backdash shoulder ram when you get hit by their low kicks. Van or Wolf players love to do LPC after hitting you with a low kick. It's a set up. The backdash shrm will float them in the air out of LPC attempt. The added bonus is when they choose to LP since your shrm would go through that as well.

Double jump kick is risky move to throw out, so don't use it unless in a combo.

All in all, you guys played much better in these matches. Keep it up!

Thanks a lot for the tips guys, it's great to find good advice when you need it.

Maddy, for the record, Alucard's Akira is 100% pad.
I am very amazed too seeing that he learned to buffer all those moves with that crappy tool known as the "Dual Shock". Now, for the less gifted, like me there is always a nice Hory Stick to do the job.

    Thank You All

he was using them as meaty, to kill the opponent's rising kick, and to avoid a low rising kick, IMHO, a smart move, also, just because something is risky, doesn't mean that it can't be used, even (and sometimes mostly) against high level opponents, that REALLY won't be expecting it to come out of the blue, however i would like to point out that while it being a risky move is not basis to stop using it, i would advice to think it thru before dishing it out.

god i'd kill to test my goh against you guys...

    Pad fighters for teh win!
I've tried to transit to a stick myself. Didn't work.

Akira's moves are doable on a pad, gotta keep a cool head though, but that counts for the stick as well I'd think. Didn't put much time in it myself, I prefer other characters. I have more problems tossing out Wolf's HCB+P consistently. And struggling is a tad harder on a pad I think.
