I know that Budokai Tenkaichi series aren't the most popular out there, but for me it's how a DB game should look like. DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 therefore, is my favourite.

I tried the demo of Burst Limit, and the fighting system is so limited and so shallow... ah.. it's just crap. It's a next-gen DBZ game for cryin' out loud! Combos and setups are too simple, there is no destructible terrain, you've got less than 30 chars (and it's DB!), and transformations are basically just pretty skins for models. Fuck That I say! I pre-ordered the game some time ago, and canceled it last week, I'm not wasting money for this game, no way /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
    Have fun though!

EDIT: Actually, the number of characters doesn't matter, as long as they are well represented in the game /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I admit that DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was my favorite over the Budokai series. Budokai was more of a traditional fighter, but certainly don't blame you for being that way, because the game play for Tenkaichi 3 was close to the anime itself. I understand indeed how you feel.

I easily was tired of the air juggles into transformations on Budokai 3, which seem broken to me, but Burst Limit brings something of a new feel, but remains traditional. But, overall, I have a PS3. So there aren't that many fighters online on here, let alone people that play them.

Also, Tenkaichi 4 is suppose to be development title for what I've heard last November.

After replying here I started thinking about the same thing you say... which is: For now, as a PS3 owner, and PS3-only player, do I have the luxury of choosing my online fighter? Well... no. There is Burst Limit, and there's going to be SC4 in the nearest future. That's it. If I find some spare cash... maybe, only maybe... I'll buy the game and we can have some matches online then /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I enjoyed Budokai 3 (not Tenkaichi, never played them) on the ps2 quite a lot, shallow as it was. I might get it if I can find a second hand copy. If I keep my eye on the local gamestores that won't take all too long I wager.

Then again, I'm still waiting for a second hand DW6 as well, and the new ones are constantly selling out. So no-brain games apparently do well on the PS3. *shrugs*

Oh yeah, if you can't play as Krillin and or #18 I'm skipping it. I do love messing around in Hyper Dimensions though, despite their absence, but that's because that is actually a fighting game with passable gameplay.

Buy Tenkaichi 3 Vortigar so you can play as a team of Krillin and #18 (Even Krillin with hair!)! You can do transformations and fusions during fight, the fighting system is demanding but you can also play without using the most advanced techniques. There's tons of characters that actually differ! The terrain is destructible and you can be sure that hitting it with your head really hurts.

If you are looking for a DB game, then I can tell you that Tenkaichi 3 is IMO the best one so far!

The online mode is filthy in all aspects for me and when I rarely get nearly lagless connections, people immediately drop out. The connections I have with people also loses it's signal on psn.

The game is alright, but Tenkaichi 3 overrules compared to this. The "what if" mode with Bardock returning in a battle against Goku was the only thing I've found interesting about the story mode, but the game is a bit limited for me.
