E3 VF party! May 12th, 2006 - SoCal

You know that thing going on from May 10th to the 12th - I think it's called <font color="blue">E3</font>... it usually brings lots of VFers to town.

So...


It's time to play at Plague's house!

All the hype and excitement from the show plus all the players fresh from the West Coast + 4 = The perfect reason to throw a SoCal VF party. Dust off your mad VF4:Evolution skills and come to battle with the best SoCal has to offer. Players from outside of SoCal are welcome to attend. I think it's definitely worth the effort.

Will you hit traffic? Hell, it's Friday night - you bet there will be traffic. Don't let that sway you! This trip is worth every minute of it.

What we provide: Three TVs, US PS2 with Evo, Japanese PS2 with Evo, two evo sticks, two ASCII sticks, air conditioning, fridge full of soda, couple or three bags of chips, places to sit, room for five or six (maybe seven?) VF setups.

What you all need to bring: Biggest TVs you can come up with and fit in your car (remember, it's better to have too many), POWER STRIPS, your PS2s, your sticks, and your evo discs.

What about food? Everyone usually chips in for food. Lots of fast food in the area. Good sit-down restaurants, too.

Who's gonna be there? You can pencil in Fishie and myself for the time being. We're spending an extra day in LA post-E3 so an evening party wouldn't be a problem, I think. I'll check to see if any of my other E3-going companions would like to attend as well.

Well, after the sweetness of Devolucion and whatnot, I totally am interested in attending this. I am now officially amped for E3 as well, due to the fact that I actually have the hookups to attend this year :-D

I am afraid I cannot come despite I will be at E3. I come to LA 6th and I will leave 12th... Will it be possible to make some small gathering during sunday 7th? Is there a way - and place - where to meet some of you?

I will actually be attending this year's E3 through work, but leaving already on the Friday. If things go as usual, I might be able to stay till Saturday IF all Return flights are overbooked, leading me to having an opportunity to stay an extra night and receive compensation. By the way, I will be in Las Vegas from the 27th of April till the E3 Conference Days begin. If you can recommend some VF places in either Vegas, or LA during my short stay there, then that would be great.

When I was at E3 in 2001 and 2002, I went by Golfland with a friend of mine. I remember they had Tekken Tag and Marvel VS Capcom 2 there, but I saw no sign of anything VF related. Any updates on arcades in the area? Would really like to have a few rounds of VF, despite the fact that I have to return back to Norway on Friday the 12th.

Lots of SoCal players have been known to show on Thursday nights. I plan to be there myself on Thursday, May 11th.

 

And is there any chance to have some games with you during sunday 7th?

 

I've been thinking about the 7th as well. I'll see what's going on that day for myself. If that day is available for me - I'm up for playing FT at Arcade Infinity or playing Evo at my house. If you want to play FT, the arcade probably opens around 2 in the afternoon and stays open till 11 at night.

It's possible other players will get in on this, too. Just post what you'd prefer (FT or Evo). Let me know if you have transportation.

 

EVo or FT? I never play FT, so if it will be possible to try it, it will be really nice... But I really don't care which one of this I will play and in whithc you will ownz me /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

My transport possibilities... I will stay at Ramada Inn Hollywood, 1160 N Vermont Ave./I-10, CA 90029 (whatever it means /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif ). I can take a taxi from there, or go with subway or anything you will recomand me...

That will be nice... Will you help me find the way to arcade? Or will it be possible to arrange some small Evo meeting with you during E3 week? I think one evening I can reserve for VF instead of writing expo reports for sure /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif
