Edinburgh VF gathering – Saturday 3rd July

I’m basically throwing open an invite to other VF’ers in the UK who might fancy the opportunity of travelling to Edinburgh for the day to play VF. So far the confirmed list of players is:

    Faded
    Stroppa
    Li Meng
    Mr Dark
    Maximum
    Elite
    EliteV2
    Rayne

My new place has plenty room for a decent number of set-ups, and if we get a few more bodies up here we’ll be looking at three Evo units running with decent sized TVs (plenty of play for up to 12 players).

Given the good notice for this event it’s entirely possible for folk from North England or indeed London to get hold of cheap train tickets and come up for the day (train journey from London is only 4 hours with cheap returns running at £28 if booked in advance).

If you’d rather stay over and get home the next day accommodation will be a problem unless you’re willing to hit a B&B or hotel. The free beds up here have already been taken. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

PM or reply here if you think you might be interested.

I recommend that people make the trip. the atmosphere is great, the venue is really comfortable and the competition is good.

Steven, do you think we could have a tournament, or a league, with prize money? i think it might attract more players.
we could just all put it a fiver each, with quite a few players, the pot could quickly grow, plus, for those who lose, it wont be a huge loss.

if you want details on how to run a league/tournament, then i can PM you with the details. (personally i think that a league is better, it means that people dont just get knocked out in the first round by the best guy that turns up, like what happened to Elite and Faded in Manchester).

Yep, we'll run a mini-league or tournament this time, later in the session. That was our intention last time but we forgot for some reason. Having too much time just free playing I guess.

If the majority of folk want to put some money into the tourney that's fine by me. Best to wait and see how many folk are coming before organising any tournament system.
