Umecchi's Eileen -- he loses the fight but does some interesting stuff. I like at ~3:00 when he puts this together:

    6P+G2 > P (wall stagger) > P+K > PK

This is a great option off of 6P+G into wall stagger situations -- these come up all the time on walled stages and it pays to have several post-stagger options. I haven't used this one in the past..

A great example of an eileen player using defense and punishing to win in a team battle.

    Nice thread ^^

I am an Eileen player. Not a very good one, mind you, but an Eileen player none the less.
I am quite new to VF. I played it at a friends house a long time ago, but never got my own Xbox and arcade stick untill recently, so i have not really developed much of anything.
The point is; I am a beginner, and would appreciate feedback, so i am posting some vids between me and Anarkira in hope of some constructive feedback ^^ (Anarkira is a thousand lightyears in front of me skillwise, but still :p )

The quality is kind of crappy, since i had to shrink my vids down so YouTube would like them better, but atleast you can see whats going on.
    So here goes.

Edit: Oh yeah, and i cant find my audio cable thingy, so these vids are mute. Sorry about that.

    Anarkira(WOLF) vs Darkfrog(EILEEN)

I donno if you know me but I'm a combo hore and eileen has a nice amount of chances to use them, you did a nice job following up with something though so that's good.

try not to use the flip randomly so much, there are times to do that such as on a TRing opponent if you want to hit them with an unexpected 2K sweep. but otherwise try sticking it in with her cancellation strings. PP,P3P,1P,3P,6P+K.

I know you're still learning (me too) but try working on your overall response to your opponent. What I mean is try different defensive options when you're presented with a choice of attacking defending and what-not. That'll really help you learn how to shut someone's offense down, espeically if they don't have a very well developed offensive strat.

If you're trying to join the monkey fold we can do some mirrors and learn some stuff from each other if you want. sometime soon.

when you embed a video just type in the string after /v/. Also just embed one video per post because it can be ruff on slower computers to load the page. Try just linking the vids.

Can't see your vids btw just so you know. . . might want to check to make sure your post looks the way you want b4 leaving it.

I hope this video works this time. anyways, criticism and advice is always welcome especially to a newish player like me. i understand basic stuff like grab when someone defends and evading though.

when you opponent just keeps 2Ping you use 6P,6P+K,9K+G and you'll hit them out of it. If you're worried about not having enough frames just block one of the 2P's then 2P them back.

I don't know who your opponent is, but it's hard to give you good feedback without seeing someone push you to your limit. There wasn't too much mind game going on in those matches. It was there no doubt but there were a lot of lulls that were ended with moves that don't particularly make sense. So my biggest advice i could give is play better players more often.

I think that's Boido E's Jacky. I played him last night and the green outfight w/ the sideburns are a dead giveaway. He's about an 8th Dan I think.

dan rank really doesn't mean too much, but I don't think you're implying that.

It looked like a pretty close match to me. But one thing I did notice, is that you are always going to him rather letting him come to you. Jacky is a good turtling character, so you need to stay on him as much as possible. Trying to fight him mid range is not such a great idea. At lot of Jacky players will fall for fakeout too. As in, running up to him, blocking or letting him whiff something, and then punishing him. But either way, the trickiest part about fighting Jacky is always getting inside his defenses. Once you do that, you need to capitalize and take all the damage you can get. And anyway, did you see the difference in total matches and win percent between you and him. You shouldn't really expect to be able to beat someone like that with your level of experience. Just keep on practicing and you'll be amazed how much better you get over time.

That jacky was mostly using the tried and true elbow > throw sequence, backed up by some smash punches. Very few midkicks imho, 3 heel swords and two flash kicks iirc. Try using eileen's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif sabaki /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

    He would've won if he'd used 214p at the end. That's what I would've used. :p
