El Blaze’s fighting style is Lucha Libre ... Luchadores (Lucha Libre wrestlers) are typically lighter in weight and concentrate on high flying moves instead of big power moves. From playing El Blaze a bit during the location test I’d say that he has less power throws than Wolf or Jeffery but has faster strikes and a variety of movements… Here are his moves as best as I can remember:

    Standard Strikes:
    [P]
    Standard jab

    [P][P]

    [P][P][P]

    [P][P][P][K]
The last kick comes out slowly and is a flying jump kick… It might be semi circular…

    [6]+[P]+[K][P][P]
A three hit chain with the last hit a European Uppercut that knocks the opponent into the air on counter hit…You can’t get huge combos after this but maybe you can get a low kick or something…

    [K]
    Standing high kick… can be [G] cancelled…

    [P][K]
Looks like most characters [P][K] combos… I believe he changes stance after the K…

    [P][2]+[K]
A jab and then a standing low kick… Looks like combos that Sarah and Jacky have…

    [3]+[K]
    Standard side kick…

    [1]+[P]
A low attack that kind of reminds me of Jacky’s spinning back first… Blaze ducks while he does it…

    [4]+[K]
A mid kick that might be semi circular… If the opponent blocks this it is possible to hit [P]+[K]+[G] to kick flip off of the opponent to safety… I only managed to do this once, didn’t get the timing or command down pat… Looked cool as hell though…
This kick can also be used for OTB combos…

    [4]+[K][P]
A mid kick into a punch (or elbow hit)…

    [4]+[P]
    A spinning backfist...

    [4]+[P][K]
    Spinning kick after the backfirst...

    [4]+[P][K][P]
A third hit in the combo after the K... Perhaps this isn't a canned combo but [4]+[P][K] leaves Blaze backturned and the final punch is just a backturned [P]...

    [2]+[K][P]
A standing low kick into a elbow hit… If the low kick counter hits the second hit is guaranteed… Reminds me of Vanessa’s [2]+[K][P][P]… Doesn’t knock down on counter hit…

    [6]+[P]
    A mid punch, similar to Jacky’s [6]+[P]…

    [6]+[P][K]
A mid punch and then a knee, reminds me of Jacky’s [6]+[P][K]… Knocks the opponent down…

[6]+[K]+[G] or [6][6]+[K] (forget which command it was):
Blaze runs towards the opponent and kicks them which can stagger on hit… Has long range but takes a while to come out… Reminds me a lot of Jacky’s Evo [6][6]+[K] (the lunging kick where he can remain backturned after it)…

    [2]+[K]+[G]
This is a standard sweep, looks like it is fully circular… On counter hit it knocks the opponent down, otherwise it just knocks them away… This is a great tool for okizeme…

    Combo Starters
    [4]+[P]+[K]
This is an European Uppercut Launcher… It is at least punch counterable… If you hit El Blaze while he is doing this move it will be like a backturned hit, kind of like Kage’s [3]+[K]+[G] or Kage’s [4][4]+[K]+[G]… Depending on stance it is possible to hit [P][P][P][K] although I’m sure there are more damaging combos available…

    [2_][K] (from rising hit [K]):
This is a knee launcher… I’m sure it is elbow counterable… It can also be used for OTB combos… Depending on stance and weight you can hit [P][P][P][K] after the launch, although I’m sure there are more damaging combos available.. If [P][P][P][K] hits low the opponent may not tech it and then you can go for a [4]+[K] to hit them OTB…

    [2_][6]+[P]+[K]:
An elbow attack that crumples on MC…

    Drop Kicks:
    [9]+[K]
Drop kick that can knock the opponent down… Takes a little while to execuse so best used at mid distance…

    [1]+[K][G]
A drop kick to the knees… This crumples on MC and can also stagger… If it crumples you can easily follow up with his knee launcher by just hitting [K] at the right time… If it staggers them you can follow up with his knee launcher or a throw…

This move takes a little while to execute so I’d save it for mid distance or if you feel like your opponent is going to come at you with a high attack…

    [7]+[K]+[G]
El Blaze back flips onto the opponent… It can hit standing opponents and ones on the ground, although it takes a little while to come out… I would only use this from a distance or on a grounded opponent…

    [9]+[P]
Blaze does a jumping punch… If this MCs it will launch the opponent…

    Throws:
[P]+[G]: A snap suplex… El Blaze “kips up†after it, looks pretty cool… You switch places with your opponent and it could be used to ring someone out on an open stage…

[3]+[P]+[G]: A kind of monkey flip frankensteiner… El Blaze climbs up on the opponents shoulders and then does a head shoulders take down… Switches sides with your opponent and can be used to ring someone out…

[6][3][2][1][4]+[P]+[G]: A kind of tilt a whirl bull dog… Does a decent amount of damage… During the location test I could usually hit a [3]+[K] stomp after this even though I don’t think it is guaranteed…

I know Blaze has more throws but I don’t know the exact commands…

Blaze doesn’t seem to have any throws he can use on downed opponents…

[2]+[P]+[G]+[K]: El Blaze rolls up the opponent… This might be the first part of a muti throw… After it the opponent is kind of falling to the ground you can hit them with a few moves like [4]+[P]+[K], from rising [K], [4]+[K], etc… I usually chose to pounce on them with [8]+[P] after this which did decent damage…

[3]+[P]+[G]+[K]: Surprise exchange where Blaze leaps over the ducking opponent… Not sure what is guaranteed after this, but I don’t believe his from behind back throw is… This reminds me a lot of Pai’s surprise exchange...

From behind [P]+[G]: This is the reverse hurracarana that we see him do to Wolf in the intro… It has a pretty cool animation where El Blaze jumps on the guys shoulders, smiles at the camera spins around on the guys shoulders and then takes him down… I’ve seen Rey Mysterio Jr. do this a few times…

From behind [2]+[P]+[G]: I was able to hit this on the computer a few times after his low surprise exchange throw, although I don’t believe it is guaranteed…

    Opponent Down
[8]+[P]: Blaze leaps high into the air, flips, and splashes the opponent… Looks pretty damn cool, although if you miss it takes Blaze a while to recover…

[3]+[K]: Blaze stomps on the opponent…

[3]+[P]: An elbow drop which takes longer to come out than [3]+[K]… Probably does more damage though… Kind of like Wolf’s elbow drop…

    Movement
[P]+[G]+[K]: Blaze stands in place and kind of dodges or sways… Not sure about anything you can do after this…

    [7]+[K]
Blaze does a backwards cartwheel… Not sure if it can hit as an attack or is just used for getting distance between you and your opponent…

    [4][1][2][3][6]+[P]:
Blaze rolls towards the opponent… While rolling you can hit [P] for a jumping dragon punch… This knocks down on hit and floats high on major counter… You can score big damage combos if it launches the opponent…

If an opponent blocks one of your kicks (I know [4]+[K]) for sure it is possible to hit [P]+[G]+[K] to kick flip off of the opponent… I only did this once where I flipped backwards to safety… Maybe you can flip into other directions (like behind the opponent) and maybe you can do it with a couple other kicks besides [4]+[K]… There was a poster on the wall at the location test showing this move… It put over how movement like this has never been possible in VF before… It looked cool as hell but I don’t know how useful it will be for attacking your opponent…

    [4]+[P]+[G]+[K] or [6]+[P]+[G]+[K]
Blaze begins to take off running either towards or away from the opponent…

Blaze takes a little while before he starts to run so I’d say its best to start when the opponent is grounded or far away…

The moves he does are independent of the direction he is running (towards or away from the opponent)…

You can run out of the ring if there stage is open…

If you run into a wall and keep on holding the direction you are going, Blaze will bounce off the wall and change direction… This is very similar to how professional wrestlers “run the ropes…â€Â

While running if you hold towards your opponent you will jump over them if they are down… If they are standing you will run past them… This can also be used to avoid certain moves like rising attacks… After passing an opponent you need to stop right afterwards if you want to counterattack (you don’t want to run away too far!) I didn’t figure out a good way to capitalize after running past your opponent or through one of their attacks…

While running you can hit [2]+[K] for a drop kick to the opponents knees, very similar to his standing [1]+[K]+[G]…

While running you can hit [K] for a normal dropkick, which is very similar to his standing [9]+[K]…

While running towards your opponent you can hit [P]+[G] to throw them… I think this throw is unique to his running stance and does a good deal of damage… The animation is also sweet although I wouldn’t know how to describe it…

While running you can hit [P]+[K] for a jumping shoulder tackle… Takes a while to come out and probably best used from a distance…

While running towards the opponent you can hit [P] to roll towards them…

You can cancel running by hitting [G] or [2] I believe…

    My thoughts
I had no idea what to do when I started playing as El Blaze, but I’m a wrestling fan and of course like Rey Mysterio Junior so thought I’d have fun playing as El Blaze… Although his throws look great, they don’t seem as damaging as Jeffery’s or Wolf’s but his canned combos like [2]+[K][P] and [6]+[P]/versus/images/mands/k.gif seem very fast and useful… His speed combined with his sweep, low throws and running game make me believe he can be deadly in close range and from far away…

At first I had a hard time and was winning about 30%... I gradually got more comfortable… I actually took out Chibita with Blaze one of the last nights I was in town, but I accidentally erased the replay… Well, at least I’ll –never- make that mistake again /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif(

El Blaze is heavily modeled after Rey Mysterio Junior http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_Gutierrez, perhaps more than any other VF character has been modeled after a real person…

El Blaze’s voice actor sounds good, but his lines are cheesy as hell… He says shit like “Heavyweights are nothing to me!†“My body is a deadly… WEAPON!†and “I am the ultimate!â€Â

He’s a lot of fun to play as and I’m definitely going to play him once the game is released… During the location test I saw more people playing as Eileen and the Eileens seemed to have more success than the Blaze’s I saw.

El Blaze Information / Partial Move List Update

Here's some additional information I got from the El Blaze thread on vfbbs... There may be some incorrect information in here...

    [4][6]+[P]
A standing punch that might have more reach than a regular punch… There are various canned hits after this punch…

    [4][6]+[P][P][K]
Two high punches and then a high kick…

    [4][6]+[P][P][2]+[K]
Two high punches and then a (standing?) low kick…

    [4][6]+[P][K][K]
A jab, middle kick, and then a very slow jumping kick…

    [3]+[P]+[K][P][K]
A mid, high, mid string… If the last knee hits on a counter then the opponent will fall on their ass…

    [4][4]+[P]+[K]
An uppercut that floats the opponent, but might leave you backturned …
The float isn’t that good, I don’t know if this is so useful…

    [3]+[P]
A mid attack, like Goh’s [3]+[P]…Maybe this is his fastest mid attack?

    [4]+[P]
    A spinning backfist...

    [4]+[P][K]
    A high backfist into a spinning mid kick… Like Brad’s [4]+[P][K]

    [K]+[G]
A (fully circular?) high kick…Will knock down on counter…
Throw counterable but it has a long range…

    [3]+[K]+[G]
(mid?) After this hits if you press [6] blaze will start to run towards the opponent… If the move hits the opponent this will cause an ass stagger so there are many possible follow-ups while running…

    [4]+[K][P]
A middle toe kick into a high back knuckle…

    [6][6]+[K]:
Looks like it can be used like Wolf’s [6]+[K] (?)… Blaze runs towards the opponent and kicks them, which can cause an ass stagger on hit…

    [2_][K] (from rising hit [K]):
This is a knee launcher… I’m sure it is elbow counterable… It can also be used for OTB combos…
    Possible combos:
    [P][P][P][K] (depending on stance)
    [P] [P] [6]+[P][K]

    [2_][6]+[P]+[K]:
An elbow attack that crumples on MC…
    Possible combos:
    [3]+[P]+[K] [P] [K]
    [6]+[P][K]

    [4][6]+[P]+[K]
A mid body hook… On counter hit stomache crumples… Seems like a useful move…

    [8]+[P]+[K]
This looks like Lau’s [8]+[P], but instead Blaze uses both hands…On (counter?) hit the opponent crumples like after Kage’s [9]+[K]+[G]… This move seems to be very useful, and is a good attack to do if you think your opponent will duck… After this you can do a combo like:
    [2]+[P] [6_]+[P] [2][K]…

    [7]+[P]+[K]
Blaze does a backwards plancha (flip) onto the opponent… Probably a mid hit… Can hit opponents on the ground… Since it takes so long to come out the opponent will probably block this and then be able to get a back hit on you...

    [9]+[P]+[K]
You might be able to chain K after this… If this move lands you in front of the opponent you will be backturned (?)

    Throws:
[P]+[G]: A snap suplex… El Blaze “kips up†after it, looks pretty cool… You switch places with your opponent and it could be used to ring someone out on an open stage…

    [6][4]+[P]+[G]
    [4][2]+[P]+[G]
The above two throws have ring out possibilities...

[3]+[P]+[G]: A kind of monkey flip frankensteiner… El Blaze climbs up on the opponents shoulders and then does a head shoulders take down… Switches sides with your opponent and can be used to ring someone out…
If this throw is escaped, I think a [6]+[P] will beat an opponents low punch…

[6][3][2][1][4]+[P]+[G]: A kind of tilt a whirl bull dog… Does a decent amount of damage (around 60 or 65?)… During the location test I could usually hit a [3]+[K] stomp after this even though I don’t think it is guaranteed…

    [4][1][2][3][6]+[P]+[G]
You might be able to extend this throw with [6][3][2][1][4]+[P]+[G]…

    [6]+[P]+[G]
    [3][3]+[P]+[G]

    Movement
[P]+[K]+[G]: Blaze stands in place and kind of dodges or sways… This might be able to avoid mid punches and high kicks…

    [4][1][2][3][6]+[P]:
Blaze rolls towards the opponent… While rolling you can hit [P] for a jumping dragon punch… This knocks down on hit and floats high on major counter… You can score big damage combos if it launches the opponent… I also believe that you can string a [K] after the punch… I’m not sure if this is always the best followup…

Here are some of Blaze's backturned moves... He probably has more:

    [P]
This is like his normal facing forward [P], you can do combos like [P][P][P][K] with it...

    [2]+[P]
This is a striking punch... its probably mid...

    [K]
A mid kick that causes a stomach crumple on counter hit...

    [2]+[K]
A fully circular low sweep... knocks down on normal hit...

    [8]+[K]
Looks like Kage's (?) Might be able to combo after it...

    [P]+[K]
A high, semicircular (?) punch... On normal (coutner?) hit it causes a head crumple...

On a side note the punch in [4]+[K][P] is probably a special high...

I know this thread is old, but I'd like to point out that El Blaze seems to be based more on a couple of Japanese wrestlers rather than Rey Mysterio, Jr. His mask looks kinda like Ultimo Dragon, and he poses like Ultimo Dragon during a couple of win poses.

As someone else pointed out to me, his pants are reminscent of the leather pants w/ flames that Japanese wrestler Tajiri wears, as well.

He seems to be an amalgam of high-fliers more than based on just one guy, I think /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

He also stole some of KENTA's moves, the hit throw/combo slap into 'Tope Mortal/Busaiku Knee Kick' is one of his finishers.

His low back throw is Masato Tanakas Diamond Dust, so theres a lot of Pururesu love going on as well...still, really wish they'd given the Go2Sleep to him instead of Jeffrey /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

El Blaze has a lot of Lucharesu moves

    Déja Vu: Dragon Kid
    Diamond Dust: Masato Tanaka
High-speed Huracan Rana: Ultimo Dragon,Dragon Kid
    Tope Invertida: Naomichi Marufuji
    Thunderclap: Keiji Mutoh/Great Muta

I think El Blaze´s move-set is based on Japanese Lucharesu wrestler Dragon Kid,because El Blaze´s signature move is Deja Vu,and he has other of his moves too

I was looking through El Blaze's move list, and came across a term that I am completely not familiar with, and is not anywhere in the VF wiki.

It says after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif that the opponent is 26 frames dizzied. What does that mean?

That is a bad Japanese-English translation on my part. The literal translation should be --

"26 frames until acceptance" -- basically after doing the tornado spin /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, you have a 26 frame window to input the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif.

    Sorry for the confusion!
