Hey, I remember someone saying that Ver. B came out today in Japan.

Is this true, has anyone played yet ? (people are sleeping in Japan at the moment, but when they wake up it'll be the 10th, the supposed release date)

Well 1/60th has greyed out all the "verA" data on the site in anticipation of "verB" so my guess is that it's out.

It'll be interesting to see what changes were made to balance things out.

    Yes, it's out today.

One thing you notice right away is that if you're in the middle of a quest, it tells you (and your opponent, and anyone watching) that you're in the middle of a quest.

    Shun:
His 270 turn yields 4 drinks instead of 6
[4][K] knocks the opponent on their ass on a hit

    Akira:
Yoho & Byakko are gone.... hehehe. Just kidding.

From what I can tell, the changes are extremely subtle so far, as another friend mentioned. Not sure if there's a list floating about or not.

well..i rang up 3 different friends todae

this is what they have to say

    1) damage tonned down. (it appears to them anyway)

    2) Quest mode is very apparent now..the game basically declares it.

    3) it appears one of Van's moves is kinda changed. I forgot which kick...my friend did mentioned it was a kick that u see kurita doing very often.

But like GP said..it's subtle..it's day one...n there's not alot of info on it
(either my friends are right..or they were asleep while playing lol!...but i kinda trust them...they know their VF)

Basically..it was a ' hi here is ver B...plz play!' smacked into the cabinet.

Saw it in the arcades thus far. I've noticed a few things thus far but it is mostly pretty subtle. I can't say much for characters other than Vanessa at the moment because she is the only one I'm using right now (though I am working to pick up Lion again). I'm sure as I play further (and as magazines are published with the latest news) I will figure out more - and post it here, of course.

just a link to evo changes

    http://www.zdnet.co.jp/gamespot/gsnews/0212/12/news11.html

its hard to understand because all the moves have no motions and are all listed under their japanese / chinese names. however, by looking at the lists, you can still get a feeling for what kind of changes were made for each character (for example - akira's damage was toned down).

if im not reading it wrong, lei feis [K] from tiger stance is low sabaki again thank god.

When Evo comes out on PS2, does anyone know if it'll be Ver.A or B?

probably. version C for PS2 came out when the arcade did, so I'm sure it'll work out that way for evo.

I've been playing it a bit. I've not noticed anything different w/ Aoi or Lion. I've only played a handful of times w/ Lei Fei & Pai since the upgrade.

I've played against Akira probably the most. They may have toned him down a bit, but I still think he's just way too jacked up there w/ the arsenal he has. Most people still do dodge->shoulder->then take off 40% of the bar w/ the follow-ups. (Starting to remind me of Jeffry's dodge->knee-> punch bullshit that everyone does). Nothing that was non-throw counterable before is now either, which is a disappointment. People whine sometimes that he has no full-crescent moves, but in the trade-off, you're getting exempt from a lot of downsides to other characters.

All in all -- the changes are still REALLY subtle. I still can't believe they made one of Shun's moves stronger.
