1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Looks like evo Ver.C. will be released in November, and it will be arcade only. Don't know the confirmed details yet, but rumour has it that they have powered up Goh and Brad(new stance) by quite a bit, and there will be many new items(vf.net only).

    P.S
I got the above info from Jap BBSs, so this is not "official" news, it could be just a rumour...

    Nice post... thanks alucard.
When I get my internet at home back (long story... my 100MB connection means dick right now) I'll definitely check that out.

Eh-can I post a quick newb. question here (oops 2 late /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif ) I did a search & had a look at an abrev. faq but it's not yet clear to me what the different "ver. x" types stand for. I understood it was the difference between arcade and PS2 versions: from what I read I thought Ver.C was PS2 vers.- but I think that's quite wrong since this toppic says Ver.C will be arcade...shit, would like 2 know what I'm talking about /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Versions for an arcade game, are similar to patches of a PC game.

So like Virtua Fighter 4 (non-Evolution) had three versions:

-version A: the initial version of the game
-version B:the next version of the game, which fixed character balance, and some general game play properties, like making back-throws non reversable. The way to upgrade the different versions, is that an Arcade will receive a disc from Sega, and swap that with the old disc.
-version C: this was the final version of (non-Evolution) Virtua Fighter 4, and is the version that the PS2 incarnation of VF4 was based off of.

Because these are basically only for character/gameplay balance, Sega sends out the discs for free, similar to a patch of a PC game. So if you play any Blizzard games, like Warcraft, each patch for the game, does little things, like change the balance of the game, hence it being free.

Evolution was a different story however, that is similar to a PC game having an expansion, like Warcraft 3 has the Frozen Throne, which unlike a patch, was considering a major (not minor) game revision, and thus you needed to pay for it. I can't remember the exact figure (can anyone else), but I though that the update from VF4 [6][6][6_]Evolution was pretty costly.

    Evolution verions:

-version A: initial release of Evolution
-version B: the only change of Evolution so far, there weren't too many major changes in this version. This version is the one that the PS2 version is based off of.
-version C: I'll guess we have to wait and find out. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hope Goh and Brad get their own stages and adding Taka this time around would be cool too.

I don't know what webiste overweight is. I checked overweight.com, and like I expected, turned up nothing of interest /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif....still need a link. I did a search and turned up nothing, but I believe you. I just want to read it with my own eyes.

I'm happy, but sad about this at the same time. Arcade only? It makes me wish that they just would've waited until the last update to release a home version. Finding an Evo version C machine in my city (or even county) would be extremely difficult, if possible at all. Once again, that would mean torturing myself by watching vids of guys from Japan playing and having fun.

I pray that they decide to release it on PS2. Hell release it on any home system (though that means more money spent for me). I personally don't care that I just bought Evo. I'd readily shell out another $20, or even $50 if they charged it, because I rarely get video games anyway.

Hmm, is your local arcade's VF machine GDrom based? AFAIK, this will be a free upgrade, but I think this only applies to machines in Japan... /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

If I'm not mistaken, the non-Japanese Naomi games are all on some goofy ass cartridge. This is according to a post here some long time ago.

I have a hard time believing they couldn't get it. Although I have heard the same info from others that go to AI, know the owners, etc.

I'm imagining they didn't see it could make much money if the hardcore players have it at home. Version C. may change things, though. I'll certainly go to play it.
