Evo World 2k7 - Where are you staying?

Evo World is going to be an interesting situation for lodging.

I have heard that the location of Evo World is about a $40 cab ride from the Vegas Strip. That's $40 per way.

I have also heard that as long as it is affordable, the hotel where it's at is a nice resort and is probably the best place to stay at for the event. You'll be at the event and you won't have to worry about much. But if you want to see the sights of Vegas early on, that cab ride can be spendy.

The hotel is about $150 a night per person with added fees on top of that. For a weekend, you're looking at quite a bit over $450 (don't forget added fees and tax).

RaybladeX tells me that if you happen to be going on a 5 day trip, however, you can get a good deal with 4 people. If I heard him correctly, it's about $1000 total, which would amount to $250 per person. For 5 days, that's exceptional (how can you complain about $50 per night). Someone double check that though, it sounds too good to be true.

As a community, we can arrange a variety of good group experience. Forming groups for tourist trips, gambling trips, dinner trips, super dinners, cheap dinners, bunny ranch, etc... I guess the VF community can form activities. Some for those who want to see more Vegas. Some for those who have had enough Vegas and just want VF. Some who are just hungry. Some who are hungry for the ladies :p

But to start it all off. Where are you planning on staying?

Will you be at the site of Evo? The strip? Cheapest place possible?

After you've answered the above, what are you coming to Evo for? To play more VF? Or to really compete? (in which case, you probably won't be playing outside of your local crew until after the tournament).

For me... I'm still debating it. If that rate I heard about is true and I can take 5 days, I'm taking that deal. Otherwise, I might go on the strip and plan on a Vegas week with only a little bit of gaming during the Evo days.

    Here's the price for 4 adults/5 nights (from August 22nd-August 27th):

    Deposit required: $241 w/taxes included

Split among 4 adults it's just over $300 per person.

    Things to note:

1: When making your reservation, make sure to ask for the "Evolution 2k" discount which is $139/night+tax .

2: When you have 4 adults, they add $70 per night for Quad Occupancy.

3: With 3 adults, they only add $35 per night.
