Evolution Items

The one thing that pissed most players off with the upgrade to Evo was the loss of the items, and rightfully so I must say. Some of them are hard to get.

With Evo, as most people know, it takes much longer to get items, mainly b/c of the randomness of the prize matches, and the fact that very few of them give you items. When you get money, it's uaully under 300G, and the permanent items start at 1000G for the crappy ones, up to 20,000G for the good ones (so far).

However, there are a few ways around this. I figure this can become a decent thread for how to get items from the few people that are in Japan and have access to VF.Net, so I'll make it rather accumulative.

How to get items:

Present service: If you applied, you got items for each character you had a card for in Ver. C. The item depended on your record. If you had a genkyu item WHEN YOU REGISTERED, you got the laser bracelet, as can be seen in many videos. If you had the 100-win item IN YOUR POSSESION when you registered, you got a good item. I got the Bazooka as a present for my Vanessa.

Mission Mode - rare, but it happens. Every now & again with a mission, you get an item. Usually like a hat or something goofy.

Quest - Normal quests usually give fight money, while event quests gives items & colors. The most recent one, posted recently here, gives a color.

Prize Match - These usually aren't rare items unless you've achieved some test before it appears, which I'll explain later. Also, Red, silver, and gold prize matches tend to carry items, and sometimes an item with a large amount of fight money. I got the green Kabuki Star with 100G on a red prize match.

Embarassing Items - as before, when you do something that Sega deems you should be embarrased for, you get an item, although they're not quite as embarassing this time. So far, the ones I've seen are an animal (usually stuffed) attached to your leg or hip, or sometimes the sholder. One way I know of getting them is getting reversed many times in one match.

Shop - The shop items change, and the items are expensive. You can get some stuff for 3000G-5000G, which are half decent. Other things, like Aoi's glasses, or Lei Fei's Odango Hair are 20,000G. Even some items I think are stupid like Lion's helmet is 10,000G. I've not seen anyone with one yet!

Deriving Prize Matches - There are special ways to derive prize matches, of which I know two. The first, is a wall item. The easiest thing is to find a machine with stage select, and select a stage with walls that can be destroyed. Destroy as many walls as possible. The next match will LIKELY be a prize match, in which the 'wall item' is there. It's a defined item.

The 2nd is the all-character straight win method. You'd best find a 50 yen arcade to do this one. You have to beat each character in the game 1 time. That will put you at 15 consecutive wins. Soonafter (usually the next fight) is a normal (don't freak out if it's not red) prize match, where a rare item awaits. Of the three characters I've seen, they've been hair items. Aoi's Machi Musume Hair (Village Girl Hair), Vanessa's Dred Hair (which doesn't look like dreadlocks, and Lei Fei's shorter haircut (the kewlest of the three). Also note that if you win excellent every time (or most times) it won't work. You need to get counter hits and whatnot, so you can't do this by yourself, unless the machines are next to each other and you've got long arms.

Colors:
You can basically win colors as with items -- Shop, prize match, and event quest. They run about 3000G - 4000G in the shop. There's been 2 colors per character for sale so far.

You also get a new color at 5-kyu, Shodan, and Tsuwamono.

Gift - If you were Ha-oh or above in Ver. C. WHEN YOU REGISTERED FOR THE PRESENT, you got the silver outfit with the present service.

1000 losses - rumor has it you get the black outfit at 1000 losses.

Could you also update us on the ranking scheme of EVO? (the ranks and requirements) When I do visit the arcade occassionally, I can't tell who ranks high or low above 10 dan.

Anything with a title is above 10-dan, basically.

I know it goes Tsuwanmono, mosa, ousha, and then I think meishou. Not sure after that... don't know if anyone's gotten there.

 

What about the new win poses?You have to buy them too?How many new
win poses has each character?

 

I know there's at least one extra new win pose, and yes, you have to buy it (3000 G)

 

I saw Akira performing two different new win poses.What about Brad and Gou?They have also new win poses?Arigatou!

 

I've only seen a couple of new win poses. One on Sarah, two for Lion. Personally, I'd rather buy items. I'm sure Goh & Brad do. Lei & Vanessa had "old win poses" on Ver C, and were new to the game.

Very observative -- yes, you can change different articles of clothing. For Aoi, you can say what color you want the trim on the kimono to be!

Anyways, about the poses. I could be wrong, but so far I've only seen the VF4 poses, plus the new EVO posses that are purchased. Haven't seen the VF2 poses yet. /versus/images/icons/frown.gif

 

Cheers GaijinPunch. No sweat, I never did like Sarah's VF2 poses in VF4, they were too stiff (lack of motion capture) and the voice was out of character. About the colours, yes I thought I saw a change, it was Sarah's 2P costume chain around her waist being a different colour that sparked my interest. More power to AM2 for doing so.

 

Yes, it's much better that way. Especially for characters like Lion & SHun. Before, Shun could only have one color outfit for 2P. Now Lion's 2P you can change the inside shirt, jacket, pants, and boots. Etc. Each character has this uprade, but some are more noticeable than others, obviously.

hmm...I'd be pretty careful with a post like that, Ikuzo. You're on your way to being banned, imo.

With regards to information on this site. We are not the makers of this game. GaijinPunch is one of the few people here that plays Evo in Japan with VF.net. Look, do you honestly think he goes out to play so he can take notice of win poses?! It's the last thing he does, I assure you.

So. Do us all favour. STFU. And when people notice a new win pose, they may or may not post about it. Until then, *never* do what you just did again. It's spam and not appreciated. Ok?

My post was extreme and foolish.I'm sorry!The issue of the
win poses has to do with the EVO version.It's a a part of EVO.You
at VFdc are not the makers of EVO but it has to with this site and most of you are ignoring this issue.I'm not asking from you guys to make videos that contain new
win poses!I'm saying to those who post Evo videos and see them
if they notice a new win pose then please say it!!I will appreciate

Yes, it was a foolish post. And yes, we know the post is concerning Evo. Try to understand that this "issue" is not being ignored by posters on VFDC. It's just that, for the most part, win poses are not a large area of concern. Playing the game, on the other hand, tends to be much more interesting. When it comes to videos that are posted online, be it Japanese or otherwise, not a whole lot of people are watching them hoping to catch a glance at new win pose.

That being said, why not stay on top of what media is available and download the videos *yourself*. If you see a new win pose, great. If not, sorry, better luck next video.

Nonetheless, all we try and enforce is that you *think* before you post.

Anyway. Regarding the new poses, try and catch the videos posted by AM2. They contain both replays and victory poses. In most of the other videos, the players tend to quickly skip past the replays and often the vicotry poses aren't in them either (or only partially, interrupted by the next challenger).

I know.I've downloaded almost all of them and I saw
ONLY 3 new win poses(akira,pai,lion)!!I think that every character has at least 2 new win poses and saw only 3 from more than 50 videos at Am2's site! Anyway AM2's
videos are very good!They have starting poses,replays
and win poses.

I could be wrong (VF.NET is down right now) but I've seen up to Win Pose 5, meaning 3 new ones. They run 3000G or 4000G which is too expensive in my book.

Also, NEW COLORS!!!
Just got Metal Blue for my Aoi. Lovely.
Lion has a white which is almost blinding. New colors run 6000G, which hurts.

Any tips on how to get a Kabuki Star for Aoi?

I would like a RED/BLUE/SILVER one.....I see the SILVER one is 10,000G and there was a cheaper one but I dunno what colour that was

Also would like to change my outfit colour, what colours are available and how much do they cost?
I have to ask my friend to buy it for me lol!

Also I really want the okame mask, but I haven't even seen it yet

Here's how to get the Kabuki Stars, as far as I know:

Silver - shop, for 10,000 G
Blue - shp for 8,000 G
Green - Silver Prize Match (That's how I got it, but hate the color)
Red - Succeed in the "Win with three excellents" mission vs. the CPU -- very hard.

Colors that are available:
Brown & Pink which you'll have by Shodan
Green 4000G
Blue 4000G
Metallic Blue 6000G (very cool - this is what I've got)
Red 5000G (I've also got this)

Black - you get on your 1000th loss
White - when you rank up to tsuwamono
