There is a guaranteed cash prize of $1000 for each game.
Top 4 placers get qualifying spots for EVO Finals.

I urge everyone in the area to show up and compete. I know single elmination kind of is a bummer but it has a free venue and guaranteed prize money.

This is a great way to show EVO that the VF community is back and ready to go. Please support and show up if you are in the area or able to travel.

There wasnt (and still isnt) a registration fee listed for any of the games; anyone know if they're tkaing $$ at the door, or what the deal is?

 

There is no registration fee for games at Evo South. You will only be charged $10 for entering the SXSW festival.

 

I heard EVO South is the only event that is free because Yaris is sponsoring it and it's the first appearance of EVO South. So Dan switched it up by mistake and Shag pretty much got it right! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

 

SXSW festival entry is a _lot_ more than $10

It looks like this tourney is absolutely free.

 

It's a lot harder to get an advanced seed to the EVO World bracket cause there's only 4 seeds instead of the normal EVO's having 8! So HAMMER-TIME!!!!.... UH.... DOUBLE-TIME!!!!!
