that's right, it's all said and done for but the Tekken's (hahahaaaaahahhhhhahaahahahahahah) and so here are the results

VF4 Evolution (the only one that counted)
    1) IMF (Kage)
    2) Maddy (Akira)
    3) Shou (Sarah)
    4) Unconk (Brad)
    5) Dandy J (Kage)
    6) YOURS TRULY (Leifei)

If you care about any of the others, your in the wrong forum. I will mention SC2 which decided not too have finals between RTD and Mick which was not cool in the least. Good matches were had by all. Honorable mentions to some ppl who I don't remember the names of (no fault of my own, I'm bad with names), Zero Chan, Yamanoinku (spelling?), Josh the Funk Doc, Akai, and others. Peace love and Iowa sushi for all!!!!111!1!1 /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Glad you all had a hearty dinner at Metro Buffet and a fun time playing VF4, MD3, Third Strike, etc. at my place afterwards.

One thing I've noticed about US VF players is their ability to gather into large groups from smaller, scattered packets of players and just have a really damn good time... and that we certainly did. I sincerely hope my efforts helped make the event more enjoyable for those who came.

Mad props to IMF. Ive run alot of tourneys and you dont often see someone go to losers in the first round and end up in grand finals and even more rare to win the finals. Immense shouts to him.

And shouts to the VF guys that came out. Every E the VF's are getting bigger and bigger and as long as there is an E im quite sure VF will always be welcomed.

Awesome post ass-wipe. I've never said I'm good. But if you'd like to find out, you'd be welcome in Chi anytime. Sheesh... can't you post something more related to the actual thread? No wonder this community is so tiny.

Im sure you have a wonderful time losing in foreign countrys, but do us all a favor now and shut the fuck up. Its annoying that you come on here trying blowing smoke up your own ass cause you go to japan often. Its a shame your suck as much as you do.

    Highlights of E8:

    - The turnout! VF keeps getting bigger and better every year. Tyson is very happy with how devoted VF players are and how many people come to play in the tourneys. As long as there is Extravanganza, VF is always welcome.

    - The character variety! We saw a lot of lesser used characters this time around. Jacky and Lau were nowhere to be seen, but Lei and Brad(!) were represented and kicked ass!

    - Maddy vs IMF! The finals were incredibly fun, seeing Florida's IMF come back from an early loss to take the top spot. Maddy is proving to be a VFing force to be reckoned with, with an amazing Akira and some of his other characters (more on that later). The Ohio scene is producing some really great stuff!

    - My Sudden Death match vs. Enkindu. My Vanessa ringed out him out with OS [6][6][P]+[K] in the palace stage. But, since we were both up 2 and we hit the ground at the same time, we had a double RO. Wow, that was... unexpected, to say the least. First time in all my VF4 experience that I've had it come down to Sudden Death. Thank goodness for [3][K]. XD Considering I won by a double KO in the earlier match (two low kicks at the same time! MADNESS), it was like a day of unorthodox wins for me. I'm just kicking myself for not saving the replay.

    - The car rides to my house and back. Sure, it was cramped with 8 of you and various gaming apparatus in my dad's van, but we definitely had a fun time yelling at each other the whole way.

By a strange twist of fate, the battery in the van died on Sunday. Don't worry, it's nobody's fault - Dad hasn't replaced it in five years, after all >_> Still, thank god it was working that night!

    - Discovering Maddy's secret life in his PS2 save file. Apparently nobody else in Ohio knew that he was developing a strong Lei Fei and Wolf (among others) on his own...

    I quote:
"MADDY, YOU HAVE A THOUSAND GAMES WITH LEI FEI?! WHAT THE FUCK?!"

    - Unconkable from STL didn't make it to the gathering at my place afterwards, but he deserves a pat on the back for performing well in all the tourneys he entered (VF4E and GGXX), including taking the top spot in Tekken Tag. Great show!

    - Finding more MD3 fans! Let's form a MD3 clan on Kawaks sometime! (^_^)

All in all, this was a great event, and I'll be more than happy to help out for any future VF gatherings!

I had a good time in the VF tourney. I didn't really get to see some matches because I had other tournament games to play. And it also sucke a bit that I couldn't get more casual games in against anyone. Ill see if I can convince more of the midwest players to take up vf, and then we will see what happens.

GG's all. Hope to see everyone at the next big event.

    Props:

IMF-Hands down the most ridiculous Kage I have ever seen. Great shit before and during the tourney. Sorry I couldn't see your finals, but I was still playing in other tourneys. Hopefully we will get to play again soon. Thanks for letting me know about the differences and how to beat delayed/quick get up attacks.

Maddy-Your Akira is still off the chain. Too quick and always making the screen shake by landing vicious hits=ouch. Great games before and during the tourney. We should play again soon.

Rest of the Ohio Crew-the two king players, Dandy J, Kojiroson, and Akai-All of you guys are getting way too good at this game. I always enjoy my matches and thanks for teaching me stuff about the game when I ask. Hope to play all of you soon.

Floe-Don't know if you read these boards, but solid Jeffery. Turtling is the jayuice so I pump that shit up.

Jesse from Minnesota-I will take my lucky ringout win against you because Shun Di was a drunk, ass-beating motherfucker. I was really impressed how you played him because I always thought him to be the worst in the game. Way to shed light on it for me and beat my ass in the process. We gotta play ST next time too.

Fetz-I was dissapointed when I saw you pick Akira, but when you changed to Brad I was glad you were reppin' him. Way to cheap people up with boxers in T4 and Evo.

WCMaxi-It is a shame you couldn't come. Hope you can come to a gathering in the near future.

Fury-Way to run some smooth tourneys and keep a cool head when things were getting busy.
Panther-I know it has been a while, but good games and come to more tourneys, shit!

ZeroChan-Thanks for the props. Nice Vanessa! Since I used to play her I thought I knew a lot of her options and mixups, but before the tourney you proved me wrong by busting some juicy setups on me. Good shit. Sorry I couldn't make the gathering as I had to finish the Tag Tourney.
May see you in Japan this winter while I am there.

    STL Crew-
Alexkidd-Way to get me the info on Jeffery's throw directions before the match. Also good job repping Aoi and Kage.

It's Shou Time-Way to cheap people up with Sarah and rep STL with 3rd place! Good games in the tourney and the day before.

Big boo to Eggchen and Hatman for not entering. You guys should've joined.

Big fuck you to all of the people that were dissing on games that I like while I was playing in the Evo Tourney. I know people really like there own games, but it was hella distracting hearing shit about how people hate Tekken Tag because of the life regain or how they hate SCII because of the character imbalance, etc while I am playing my match. If you pump up VF, you should be pumping up VF to everybody, not jacking all of the other games that were there. Those kind of attitudes are shit and I pity people like that.

Overall I had a good time and hope to see all of you at the next VF Evo Tourney!

    conk out,
    not doomsday is coming, just...

    DUM DUMS DAY IS COMING!!!!

Sup, what's going on? Where are all the guys at?

First off I have to thank Josh the FunkDOC and his folks for providing hella uber-leet transportaion to Iowa! Having tournaments on the way to tournaments is top tier! Good games dude, see you at the next VF event!

Thanks to Zero to providing gaming quarters for the VF crew and owning my face in Magical Drop, that game is too fast!

Fury, FetZ, FloE, and all the Chi VF crew - Firstly, thanks to Fury for running a smooth tourney amongst the madness, I liked the RR we did before the losers finals, I think we're going to do that for OH tourneys since we suck at seting up brackets! Congrats to FloE for winning GGXX and placing high in SC2.

To all Chi crew - The VF community welcomes you, regardless of what some scrub-level elitists say on these forums. Come to the major tourneys and you'll see that all the REAL players keep it real, regardless of the BS on these dry-ass forums. And tell WCM to keep playing VF, what else is he going to play basides SC2? Tekken? lol.

Akai - Good games dude, keep playing and I will see you very soon in that serious RV on the way to NYC!

IMF - MAN hella serious ninja action! Good job coming back from the losers to defeat Maddy in the finals! I gotta start copying those FC knee setups, so much juice! It was too bad I didn't get to play you in much casual, I was tired as hell after getting back to Zero's crib, and playing on Japanese sticks=ugh for me. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif I'm gonna try my best to make it to NYC, we gotta get some games in dude, for my sake!

Shou - Nice to see you again, dude! So many STL gatherings missed out on, I need to start coming with Jimmy. VERY smart move not letting Jimmy use your stick, he would've broke it for sure! If only a few of us [broken] stick owners in OH would've known about that like six months ago! Don't worry though, Pelican, Inc. feels our pain. Man, you HAD Maddy in the semis, remember: ALWAYS KEEP WALKING!!! Backdash DC for life!

Maddy - OMG those finals had me on the edge of my seat! IMF had you breakin foward like it was TFT! And why did you doublepalm Shou, anyway? You know it's only 14 frames right?

Conk - Nice seeing you again dude! Congrats for winning TTT, I heard you wiped the floor with those dudes! Too bad we didn't get in much casual tho. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif You should come with Shou to NYC!

Tim - Nice meeting you, dude, you're a cool guy! Good games!

To That One Shun Player That Sent IMF To The Losers Who's Name I Forgot - Good job!

To everyone else - Good games.

    To OH crew - what

Yes, indeed. Big props to all of you for making out to E8. I wish we had chance to get some casual matches in and hang out afterwards, but too bad that time didn't allow us to do that this time. It is thrilling for me to see the midwest scene is growing, and hopely in the near future, we can have a midwest VF gathering for all. Once again VF community welcomes you all!

Havin fun all, I will now post official shout outs:
IMF: Dam G, that's some sic shit. U keep getting better, I hope u have the mad fun in Florida though your scene keeps "changing" whether it be the movin of Cappo or the disappearance of Blondie. Dunno, but I'll c u in New York /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Shou: Ohio v St. Louis is always interesting, Sarah is gettin tighter and your skillz have improved MUCH since I saw u last (granted it was a while ago).

Unconk: Brad is an annoyin SOB but it takes skillz to be good at so many games (I MUST DEFEAT YOU AT GGXX) and ur still bizarro Sean/Shawn/Shaun in my mind. Hope u can make it to Ohio soon.

Tim: U r a cool individual, nice meeting you (remember the girl in the pink shirt, never forget).

Zero: Nice meeting u as well, you are kind as fuck to let us pester u so late with Midwest style VF at it's finest. Good games were had by all. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ohio crew: Josh has UNDOUBTEDLY the coolest parents EVER!!! I'm your adopted brother now, your wolf continues to get more and more serious and I know as we speak your prolly gettin rdy for the NY trip. Akai's Pai is gettin stupid good, u have defeated me in the first annual RV tournament and that doesn't happen all the time (and it won't *shakes fist in revenge*). Jason, u can't doubt your VF abilities, you know mad mad things, u defeated me fair and square in the tournament and got 5th of your own accord. Jimmy, Akira is always ill and we will continue to spread the word of Ohio tightness throughout the land.

Anonymous: Good matches, strong Kage and the power of pad is not 2 be doubted. Next time, we'll roll slightly deeper so they know that we're serious about our food.

Fetz and the Chi crew: srry that u didn't get to play much free play (the price of playing many games), we hope to see u in the future (the possibility of an Ohio gathering is in the wind) whether it be at the NY thing or something else. both of you r suprisingly good for not playing too much and I look forward to mad competition in the future.

Everyone else: Supporting VF community in America is a noble cause, thank u for doin it. There were no weak players there and that makes me a happy VFer. Hope 2 c all in the future.

    Quoted for truth.

I'm guilty of doing this toward Tekken 4. I kept on talking shit about how every time I looked over and saw dumb characters being played (charas other than Jin, Nina, Lee, Julia, Steve, and Ling). I guess I expected Tekken 4 to be evolved to the point where it's officially Jin: The Game, and was dissapointed when people played other characters.

I mean, I saw a Bryan player beating a Jin player, people picking Marduck and Kuma and Law, and all kinds of retarded crap.

Congrats to Tomhilfinger for winning that shit tho, he played Jimmy in VF and seemed like a really cool guy. He mentioned on Tekken Zaibatsu that Jimmy inspired him to start playing again.
