What is the purpose of this jab? It's two frames slower to come out, does the same damage and has only one frame advantage on hit over the regular jab. Which doesn't fit into my friend's assertion of reading about it on here as being really useful. I mean, I'm sure it is because regular /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is really useful, but I've read all of the threads here on El Blaze and don't recall it being mentioned. And looking at its frame stats, I don't see why anyone would say that. But my friend doesn't usually make stuff up as part of a higher level mindgame (though come to think of it, that's a pretty good tactic, if somewhat cheap,) so what have I missed?

    Straight from the VF superguide:

" This high punch attack is a little slow compared to El Blaze’s normal P attack, but it gives better rewards when it is guarded or when it hits the opponent. On top of that, this attack also has the ability to go under high attacks, though when guarded it leaves El Blaze at a small advantage. On normal hit, the opponent cannot crouch under a throw attempt, so you should try to use this move as much as possible instead of the normal P in a variety of situations. You can also follow up with the variety of attacks from this move."

Oooh! That should be added to the movelist, I think.

Let's say you block Lau's elbow and you (as El Blaze) retaliate with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. The punch will duck under Lau's follow-up palm in /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif! Even better -- if Lau chooses to evade after the elbow is blocked and you did /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, a throw is guaranteed!!

The above, combined with the fact that the follow-up /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif in /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif hits middle and is safe, mean that the string is very useful and powerful.

Thanks, Ice-9, I'll be making it a staple of my El Blaze strategy.

Hazuki - that page doesn't load.
