Favorite animes

What kind of anime do you watch? My favorite anime is Cowboy Bebop and I watch action, adventure, martial arts,and some comedy anime as well.

 

the most recent animes i've been watching are hajime no ippo, d.grayman, and initial D.

 

Other than Hokuto no Ken, Dirty Pair, and maybe Slayers, I can't think of any others.

From what I've seen, I'm probably one of the few VFers that generally dislikes it (only one in my Japanese classes as well).

*Yells an attack as he is doing it in a tournament with an audience filled with generic school girls*

 

I despise anime. I can't relate to it and I dislike the art direction. I do like Spirited Away, that's probably the closest thing to it.

My favorite graphic novels are: David Boring, Jimmy Corrigan, anything by R. Crumb, Black Hole, some American Splendor, and Ivan Brunetti's collections.

 

I almost never watch anime anymore. I only read the comics (manga) nowadays.

My favorite series (manga only) are Berserk, Blade of the Immortal, Hokuto no Ken, and Vagabond.

 

hee hee my avatar. but yeah, Berserk has to be my all time fav. To me, that is what an anime is all about. Don't have so much time these days, but I have been watching a little of Last Exile, not too bad.

Nowadays anime is done so piss poorly in both english and japanese that I can't even stand it. It's just the same thing over and over no matter what you do. I just go to the source and read it. So much is lost in the transition from Manga to Anime that it's almost horrible. Hell enough is already lost in translationg between original manga and english release manga.

Though I listed before, Berserk is definately my favorite manga series of all time. I've almost all but given up and the mainstream stuff for this series. It's funny too because most people only know the anime, but the manga has been running for almost 15 years! It's definately not new but it's so unique and deep that 30+ volumes, almost 300 chapters later, it's an ungoing classic.

I'm a little surprised to see so many Berserk fans... awesome! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif I wish I could get a hold of the manga without having to spend thousands of dollars.

I got tired of anime years ago, but Japanese film on the other hand is pretty bad ass.

Scanlations of Berserk are not current? Or just not as good as having the real thing?

 

Scanlations are TOO current lol.

Berserk is 30+ volumes Plague, that's ALOT.

For current berserk you can go to evil-genius.us but if you want all the old stuff (1-31) then you need to do some serious backtracking.

Yah - it takes some looking to find them all. It may cost less than the thousands that Ladon <s>is going on about</s> mentioned.

 

Yeah, Dark Horse releases them at $15 an issue. I encourage you to buy them (support good art please, kinda like when I downloaded every Fugazi song ever and then when I got my license I bought every album [super-long aside, sorry]).

hmm never seen berserk before. I usually watch anime since I never got into manga or rather haven't sat down and actually watched a manga before. I think it cause I feel manga with be less exciting with no motion but who knows.

I watch the usually anime others watch naruto,bleach,death note , etc. I like the japanese voices of anime as well.
