My top favorite vf game is vf4 (not evolution despite being better as a fact rather than opinion or at least so I think).
I like the stage designs better, the music, sarah's poses and quotations.

My favorite character is Sarah and I usually like doing the heel kick moonsault move with her (up-right kick, punch(pkg in vf5)
Her quotations and poses in vf4 are my favorites quotations in the series overall, if anybody noticed, she's one of the few characters that is not cheesy at least as of VF4.

There are some things about vf3 I prefer to vf4,
the camera pans as a fight begins, the multi-tiered stages.

My favorite stages in the series overall is sarah's vf3 subway and vf5 aurora stage along with lion's vf4 castle, pai's vf4 aquarium and the vf4 palace stage with the latter being my top favorite fighting arena of all time. So much beauty in those stages particularly vf4. Also I really like the music that accompany those stages.

As much as I LOVE VF5, I would say my favorite stages are only from VF2 & VF3. Sarah's subway stage was killer, mainly because of being able to hit the subway and lose 199 damage. Even better was hitting the guy who got hit by the subway with a jab for a 2 hit KO combo. =)

I miss all the little extras that VF2 & VF3 had. And even though the graphics weren't as good in VF2, there is something about the style of that game that really interests me. It's almost as if the backgrounds sparkle when they move. I know it's just the nature of the game engine, but I always think of that game having sparkly pixels. =)

The music was definitely the best in 2 and 3 also. VF4 was good but it was the first game to finally start moving in a different direction musically. I always considered the style of VF4's music to be "Rockno" (rock + techno).

    If I had to decide between VF2 & VF3, I don't know if I could.

I actually think that VF2's graphics have held up quite nicely. The animation, the look...everything is so clean.

I agree about the music as well.

When 5FS comes out this Christmas you get all of the classic tracks in the old stages so you can choose what song you get (providing you are playing on a stage that has old BGMs available).

I'm not a fan of 5 Vanilla and 5R's music, which is why having the old tracks in 5R/5FS is so great. VF4's tracks are hit or miss for the most part, but the best ones (4 Vanilla Lion, EVO Lau) are at the top of my list.
