Favorite video game music~

Whoa.. lots of good stuff here.
My personal favorites:

Final Fantasy 6 (or 3 US)

i know i've missed tons out still... (oh, and sonic & knuckles: sky sanctury stage)

 

Soul Edge has so many good songs especially its opening theme, and therefore is my favorite.
apart from that,
- Lunar Silverstar Story (amazingly good!)
- Grandia
- FF7, FF7
- WW2 fighters (PC)
- Castlevania
- Rockman X4
- Daytona USA (Saturn)
-Sakura Taisen 3 (Sakura War)

 

Super Street Fighter 2 (turbo or not turbo, music the same).

Love its music.

 

For me, it's Xenogears. I can listen to that harpsichord all day (and often do).

The rest:
FF4, FF9, ActRaiser, Jet Grind Radio, CastleVania: SOTN, and some from Metal Gear Solid.

 

Even though I like Tekken and VF equally there comes a point where that "equalness" breaks and thats with Tekken's music. Tekken 2 is my favorite soundtrack ever. Every song is a classic.

 

In no particular order:

VOOT, VF2, VF3, VF4, Tekken 2, Tekken 3, TTT, Wipeout XL, Tobal no. 1, Tobal 2, Jet Grind Radio, Soul Blade, Soul Calibur, FF7, Madden 2K2 (the BGM on the intro and option screens)

My favorite video game music? Since there's so many I guess I'm going to have to rank it.

5. Legend of LegiaThe music you hear in Legend of Legia when your having a dream.

4. Street Fighter - Ryu's theme.

3. Mortal Kombat's theme. If that's not good video game techno, I don'tk now what is.

2. Wu-tang - Since they are one of my favorite groups it's only natural for me have there game music on my list. liked all of it.

1. Final Fantasy VII - Sephiroth's theme. Not One Wing Angel, but the theme. Some people get those two mixed up.

Gran Turismo 3:A-Spec! Not just for the individual songs but the whole soundtrack was awesome! especially when you had to do lap after lap after lap.

Only videogame music I listen to very often outside of its original context is from Ikaruga. Silvergun is probably better at creating atmosphere, but ikaruga is a lot more upbeat for listening purposes. The audio is especially impressive considering all i've got is rips of the synthesized music via the game's sound test mode. I'd love to hear an actual orchestrated version.

Anyway my favorite game music and the first time I actually listened to music outside the game I was playing would be Metal Gear Solid, my second choice would be Chrono Cross.
