FS Character Storyline: Akira

At the semi-finals of the 4th World Fighting Tournament, Akira stepped into the arena ready to face his opponent. Before him stood Kage-maru, the only obstacle remaining in his path to the finals. Akira lashed out at Kage-maru time and time again, only to have his attacks deftly parried and dodged. As the match wore on, he found himself outclassed by his opponent. He finally went on to lose the match and was eliminated from the tournament.

Akira had depended heavily on his training to take him to victory. But as he had failed to make his mark in the 3rd and 4th tournaments successively, he began to question how effective his training had been.

One day, while in the mountains, something caught his eye as he was gazing at a clear stream. It was a solitary leaf floating downstream. His eyes followed the leaf as it turned on the current, swirling around the rocks in the stream. Akira gasped. “The leaf doesn’t fight the flow of the stream, it turns to the will of the current… that’s it!”

Inspired, Akira resumed training that very day. As he trained to refine his techniques, an invitation to the 5th World Fighting Tournament arrived. “In my current shape, I should be more than a match for him!” In order to put the results of his training to the test, Akira entered the tournament.
