Abit back I went up to play against Nybecs Aoi after an insanely long period of whine in #vfse (Swedish VF chann) that we didn't play enough. The thing is - it's a 4 hour hella boring busride but Nybec thinks it's nothing ofc (sessionpimp that he is) /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have people to play against down here in the southern parts of Sweden (but everybody lives way up it seems) with Must (Mysterio here) and Az1d etc but Nybec and I always play even (to the point of it being frustrating) so he's like an Archnemesis or something when it comes to the game of VF and it drives you to improve (which is good).

Yeah we played freakin even once again and just recently I bought a TV Card so I could cap a few replays taken when I was up there in that wintery shithole that is Jönköping - all in all it was really fun though ^__^

The problem was that not many matches actually got to be replays (doh!) and since we're both theorydorks (I know I'm annoying at it sometimes) as soon as anything really funny happened in a match like me slipping a midrising (and a replay was saved after) we would stop up and talk about it totally ignoring pause so most of the replays where shite to begin with due to long pauses with no action etc (end whine here) ^__^

Anyways; first some matches then and then questions:

    KiwE(Brad) vs Nybec (Aoi) - 1.

    KiwE(Brad) vs Nybec (Aoi) - 2.

    KiwE(Brad) vs Nybec (Wolf) - 3

    KiwE/Brad) vs Nybec (Aoi) - 4

    KiwE(Brad) vs Nybec(Aoi) -5.

Now for the questions and there are quite alot cause I'm new at capping and frankly I don't really like the filesizes alot either /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

So; what do you other guys compress to? I'm using 640*480 Xvid Mpeg4 1 Pass - CBR 700kb/s bitrate for the video and mpeg 3 32kb/s 22khz/mono 4kb/s through Vdub after having a much bigger rawfile to work with. I think the filesizes are abit big and I think I want them down in the smaller then 10mb area but feel that if I change anything the quality really suffers or something so if someone with experience in this could help I would greatly appreaciate it /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Also; when it comes to sound:
I got the sound from the capture card going into line-in as it should but it gets really loud and I can't get rid of that distorted feeling on it almost which is annoying.

    Floorbug <----- loud volume.

I can probably experiment more on this though and change volume on recording many steps but is there some kind of mastering / normalize function in Vdub to bring the volume up to "normal" after? What programs do ppl use other then this when it comes to videoediting btw?

Also; has anyone experience with just recording the sfx and not the bgm and then exporting that as a wav, adding a bgm of choice (mixing togheter in an audioprogram) and then putting back onto the original video again without loosing synch?

    Thanks alot.

Video 2, round 2- Behold the power of SPAM! Way to stuff him each time he side-recovered...with the exact same move.

Don't you love those kind of simple mind games, esp when your opponent keeps eating them?

Don't forget! I won that match anyway /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

When these matches came online I wish I'd concentrated more while playing. But on our gatherings I usually try out new things and see how far you can go with them. Like KiwE's little test with Brad's [1]+[K],[K] in the spoken second round.

    CroCop highkick!

I don't remember and won't bother to check but from I needed something that would beat RTEG that Nybec had started to use (and was hella happy about) if I remenber correctly as the problem with alot of my Oki right then was how many of Brads attackoptions are Mid. Since [1][K][K] would win against a RTEG (if he did mid reversal) and sabakis like [4][4][P]+[K] (and even YY) I'm quite happy I found it yeah. [1][K][K] isn't TC either but it really started to hurt when, as you can see, evaded [1][K][K] = Backthrow apprently (and all I could think about was doing both and then doing reverse nitaku to check if he knew they weren't TC). But I thought it was a fun round all in all with 2 backthrows / him ending with doing a crouchthrow on my ducking amongst other things - not to be taken to seriously / who the fuck cares (it's not like it happened ever again)? /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm still waiting for someone to give me tips on capturing media. Just what kind of compression / codec ppl use or freakin something =/
