Big announcements yesterday of Erich Schaefer, Max Schaefer, David Brevik, and Bill Roper all resigning from Blizzard North. This makes me happy and sad. They were some of the greatest minds behind the Diablo series, but I am very excited about what project they may have cooked up. A competitor for World of Warcraft? Diablo-esque ARPG? Very curious...

Also, Yoshiki Okamoto left CAPCOM. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif The man who created Street Fighter and Final Fight. It's already reported that he has started creating a new company though. Hmmm, a new competitor in the 3D fighting market? A new 2D fighter to mix it up against SF, GG, and KoF? A beat'em up that actually delivers what The Bouncer promised? My mind is overloaded.

I'm not sure what The Bouncer promised (and it surely wasn't gameplay), but if you're looking for a 3D beat'em up the only good one is SpikeOut. SlashOut is ok too, but I don't like it as much as SpikeOut.

This is nothing compared to some of the rabid fans screaming rumors all over other message boards, some ideas are damn scary....

People think they left for the reason of Blizzard/Vivendi/Micro$oft's relationship, which has certainly not been good lately.

People are also agreeing that SC:Ghost is going to the can, it seems like a reasonable thought to me unfortunately.

Not to mention that this seriously disrupts Blizzards release of TFT, but oh well, I still bought it. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yeah, I have seen a bunch of people yelling about the next projects for the guys, but I won't believe anything until they do actually form a new company and make an announcement. I'm not sure what type of contractual stuff they have to keep themselves under for a little while. I remember all the restrictions that Richard Garriott (Lord British to us fans /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif) had placed upon him when he left Electronic Arts. His upcoming project Tabula Rasa is looking awesome though.

Vivendi needs to sell their game division or decide not to, just so the company can calm down. SC: Ghost looks interesting, but I'm holding out until I can play it before I pass any judgement on it. Warcraft I have a bunch of friends who play, but I never got into it.

So are you saying you were mistaken, or do you still retain that Ghost was considered to be an X-box exclusive? Don't get me wrong, I could understand if you thought that the rumors were true, but Blizzard actually confirmed in a recent article (from Blizzard so it is factual) that they were only rumors. The reason why so many people thought they were true, is up until recently, the only footage of Ghost was of X-box versions, hence the misconceptions.

Yes Ghost was at one point an XBox exclusive.
It was confirmed to me at E3.

Fishie, Blizzard has maintained that Ghost is being developed for Gamecube, Xbox, and PS2 for almost a year now. They *NEVER* said that it was an xbox exclusive, but at last years TGS when it was shown it was shown only on the xbox so rumors started flying. The whole crap about xbox getting it 3 months before anyone else seems to be the current flavor. If you know for true that it is an xbox exclusive then by all means back this up. Otherwise you are just propagating more of this rumor shit. Hell, the ony problem I have with the game thus far is that Blizzard chose Nihilistic to develop Ghost and they are a pretty shitty house IMO.

I have a feeling that Blizzard is going to have alot more problems very soon *cough*VivendiAssholes*end cough*, I have heard many many negatives about Starcraft Ghost. Now with the multiplayer being cancelled, the bad mouthing has resurged!!!

Re Fishie: I seriously understand why you think that though, as Replicant said, many game sites and publication assumed the rumors to be true, so maybe that's how you heard about it, and also assumed it was true. It was only recent that Blizzard procalimed that the rumors were all false about it being X-box exclusive, they let the rumors last for months which is another reason why many people, including you, though Ghost to be X-box exclusive. Anyways, it's not so I'm glad it is cleared up.

I was TOLD that talks for exclusivity were at advanced stages by Blizzard people themselves.
Talks fell trough in the end.
    Cant say more sadly.
