GAMEAGEDDON ZERO- ?The Best of Both Worlds? SNK & CAPCOM

This tournament will be held at BCC north campus on September 4 & 5 2004 (Labor Day Weekend). The tournament location will be the same as the last two (Game Flex 2 & 3 that is)
1000 Coconut Creek Blvd., Coconut Creek, Florida 33066
This is just to tell about the tournament rules and pot give out all the other information will be coming later. Other info- what type of trophies since these are going to be big events, giveaways, hotel accommodations & deals and more.

Tournament Day there will be two types of games played.
One or more classic Games.
This will be based of my description of a classic game.
The rest will be tournament Games.
There will definitely be games there to be played casually.


The pot for the classic games will be none. There will be only one and that person gets the ENTIRE POT. The entry for these tournaments will always be $5 dollars and I don?t plan to change them anytime in the future.


The Tournament Games pot will be split 70% to the winner, 20% to the second place winner, and 10% to the third place winner.
** Extra Prize- Anyone that wins two tournaments will get an Extra $50 dollars. This only applies to the tournament games. There is possible extra $150 for someone to win if there that good.

The elimination process is as follows:

All matches will be best two out of there (except for losers bracket on team games like MvC2 and CVS2 one match only) up until the semifinals to decide who fights the person who as not lost any matches. Then it will be best 3/5 matches. This and all my tournaments will be double elimination.

The Tournament Games and Times are as follows:

Day 1 is CAPCOM Day 2 is SNK

Doors will open @ 11am and registration will end at 12:45 p.m. Tournament will start @ 1:30 p.m.

Anyone who has to register after 12:45 will be charged a flat fee of $5.00.
Participants that pre-registered are not subject to this fee because I will already have them registered.

Entry Fee- $10.00

Classic Tournaments $5.00 (please keep in mind the winner gets entire pot)

Tournament Games $10.00

Games:

Classic Game:

Rival Schools: Project Justice (1:45)

Street Fighter 2 Turbo (1:45)

Tournament Games:

CVS 2 (3:00 pm)

Street Fighter Alpha 3 (5:00 pm)

MVC2 (6:30 pm)

Street Fighter 3: Third Strike (8:30 pm)


Tekken 4 (4:00 pm)

*- all capcom games will be played on dreamcast and Tekken 4 will be played on PS2


Rules:

A: Rival Schools:
1. No Evil Characters
2. Hidden Characters are allowed (ex. Roy, P. Akira)


B: CvS2:
1. No game breaking glitches
2. Roll canceling is allowed
3. Winner keeps same team and grove (loser changes all)


C: Street Fighter Alpha 3
1. Arcade Rules/winner keeps character but, can change ?ISM? (loser changes all)
2. Infinite and everything else allowed. (Under arcade rules of course)

D: MvC2:
1. No game breaking glitches
2. Gambit glitch, although funny is not allowed.
3. Winner keeps team and order played (loser changes all)

E: Street Fighter 3 ? Third Strike
1. No known glitches allowed
2. Winner keeps character but can change SA (loser changes all)
3. Kara-cancelling is allowed

D/F: Tekken 4
1. Winner keeps character (loser changes all)
2. Rounds will be set to 3/5 but matches will still be 2/3.


Day 2: SNK Day


** -- There will be no Halo on this day due to the Fact that a Separate Halo tournament is in the works as we speak. (Heads up- Rainbow Six 3 may also be played on that day)


Classic Games:
Samurai Showdown 2: MVS Arcade Board (1:00)
1. Super Desperation moves allowed (ex. Hanzo invisibility)

Samurai Showdown 4 MVS Arcade Board (2:00)
1. No bosses
2. No gamebreaking glitches or infinites allowed

Tournament Games:

Samurai Showdown 5: (AES & MVS) (3:00)
1. No infinites

King of the Fighters 2003: MVS (4:30 ? 5:00)
1. No combo glitches (ex. Dulong infinite)
2. No game breaking glitches allowed.
3. Dulong is banned (per your request this decision is now Final)

SNK vs. CAPCOM: Chaos (MVS) (7:00)
1. No hidden characters allowed.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves (MVS) (8:30 ? Whenever)
1. No boss characters allowed

Mortal Kombat: Trilogy (PS2) (1:30 ? 3:00)
1. Aggressor off
2. Boss Characters, Noob Saibot & Rain are not allowed
3. Shang Tsung can only morph into the character he?s playing
4. Best 3/5 for semi and 4/7 for finals
5. All matches will be 1 vs. 1 (no exceptions)

Soul Caliber 2: (XBOX) (2:00- whenever) only game on xbox.
1. No Console characters are allowed. (sophitia, seung mina, Spawn and so on)
2. Charade is Banned
3. Astaroth slide Glitch is banned (both of them)
4. Neutral guard on, rounds will be 3/5, Life 100%, & 50 secs.



Guilty Gear XX: (PS2) (3:15)
1. No ex or gold characters (robo-Ky also not allowed)
2. Everything is good to go

Virtual Fighter 4 Evolution: (5:00)
1. Rounds 3/5, Random Stage select
2. Rounds set to 45 sec

Bring Your own controllers for both days for the Console games. If you are not ready to play when we call your name we will give you one minute to find somebody who will let you borrow his/her equipment. I will have controllers there that we will rent to you BUT FOR NO REAL COST. I will take your license and if you don?t have one I will take the price of the controller retail and then return the money to you when you leave. Don?t force me to forfeit your match because of that, thanks.

Any of you floridians gonna be attending this for VF4?

 

Labor day weekend sounds good, it's too early for a confirmation yet but if nothing important pops up then you can count me in for VF4 evo and T4 (probably 4 more heads for T4) . I'll spread the word but I got a couple of questions though, you have almost every fighting game in the book covered, but decided not to include TTT !!?? I'm really baffled by this. I know a couple guys who would probably want to participate but their hardcore tag players I doubt they'll come for T4 only but I'll ask anyway. Also wanted to know if shoulder buttons are allowed ?

Man the DC is getting so much love but no VF3tb, I'd probably be the only one playing it though /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I'm really tempted to play Rival Schools but probably casuals.

PS. Please consider TTT !

TTT- well i don't know. maybe next time. please keep in mind i am using all original games to help prevent any slowdowns and it tends to get a bit expensive after a while. So i am slow but surely building up some money so i can get to hold more games to suit everyone. TTT- is a indefinite right now but i don't know if i can afford it. and i refuse to borrow because i did that before and when people were ready to go i was stuck. How do you define game breaking glitches? Are things like forcing time out by infiniting a dead opponent and other gay stuff allowed? Gambit glitch I assume you mean flying off the screen with a snapback for gay time out.... just making sure

I'm sure they go by the rules that everyone else does...

Anything that completely freezes the game or makes it 100% impossible for on player to win. Gambit glitch, Rush glitch, dead body infinites, etc.

Exactly. Thanks for clarifying that for me. as for TTT i may consider being that T4 is the on tournament on the PS2 on that day. I just may have to rent a few copies $15-$20 dollars more won't kill me. If you get me like ten signups i'll do it. No problem....

 

Thanks for considering it, I posted this on Zaibatsu and ask ppl to e-mail you if they were interested, I'm pretty sure you'll get more than 10 ppl to sign up but if not then no biggie. Lazarus, told me that some SC2 players might not be happy that it's only on X-Box... Maybe because of pad/stick issues I guess, he didn't say why. If consoles are available and ppl bring their own games will they be able to play it on PS2 ?

Yeah man, it's not a problem actually i don't mind even but it wont be worth it to me unless people come. I gotta buy a trophy, get the games and the time so it's not funny when i only get like eight people and i have four stations. It's a 15 tournament. ' I set a record yeah..........not'. I know you see where i am coming from but, i personally thought that there was no florida scence for TTT. Because people from tampa, psl, orlando, and other places come for my tournaments and i never heard anyone ask for it. But i will definitely do it man. get me some people and i will but let me know soon because i will be making my trophy order pretty soon. Thanks.....

True. Imo though it is easier for people to attend this tournament than on other dates. Some jobs actually give the three day weekends and also so do most schools, as for families well that is a different story. LOL.

To everyone who plays: Tekken Tag I have not received a call or email in regards to this tournament. I now have the resources to get the games and running the tournament now I need some signups by August 1or i won't be able to do it.

Sure no prob I'll post it *thumbs up*. You can make it either or, I'm down with whatever you decide to do. I don't know exactly how many heads will show up but if there's enough for you to make a little profit from it then by all means go ahead and make it a tourney game if you want.

Tournament Officially Postponed

I spoke with the school officials today and the president closed the school for the next two days. The school won't be opened until monday. I will be trying to get either the 11 or 12 or maybe the following week. This hurricane really misses up things. Talk to you guys soon.
