    aw man!!! what the fuck!!!!!
just watched '100 best cartoons of all time' on shitty channel 4

now i was all up for watching a show exploring memory lane, having c- list celebs talk bout shows they only wish they had actually seen.

now anyone here would probly put the elite show, the transformers near like the top ten rite? aw hell no. they put it at number 37

37? meh, i guess , ill give the show a chance i sed.

so what do these 'celebs' say bout it? well first off, they give maybe 40 seconds in all talking bout the transformers, b4 giving a show i could never understand 'the magic roundabout' a full 6 mins segment!

and to add insult to injury/ twisting the knive in the wound, they didnt say ONE postivie thing about it.

'good toy, good theme song, should have stay a toy, not a show'
'transformers, is in my view, the biggest pile of crap' -maker of family guy.

MOTHERFUCKERS! no one gets away with saying only negetive tings bout my most beloved cartoon of all time!!!!

maker of family guy, i put JIHAD on you!!!!

    UPDATE!!!:

guess what beat transformers at 12 place?

    the iron giant (1999)

The Iron Giant is not bad.

Now if He-Man beat the Transformers, that's reason to be upset.

A few years ago I had just been pushed through the ass end of a divorce. If you've ever had a girl you really liked tell you she didn't want to talk to you again, it's kinda like that. Except she also takes all your shit. And she gets hooked on cocaine with your money. Not that pussy snorting up the nose shit or smoked through a glass tube shit. Cocaine a spoon a lighter and a syringe. I imagine one of those rubber bands was involved too, but what the fuck do I know. Oh yeah. Not only is the coke purchased with your money, but her new boyfriend can be seen nightly driving by your job in your old mercedes (which, as things go, is rapidly approaching a state of disrepair what with singing belts and bulletholes) to get said coke.

When life ceases to be working towards what you wanna be and what you wanna do and becomes instead a haze of work and sleep and crying, you seek out those things that made you happy as a child. Going outside to play. Cartoons. Pussy. Okay, maybe not pussy. Anyways, one day during all this crap I had the good fortune to entertain a young ladyfriend from NYC at my apartment on the occasion of her birthday. I cooked her dinner and we chose to try opium for the first (and last) time. Then we watched The Iron Giant and cried then made love until sunrise. I walked her to her car and went inside to crash. Three hours later she knocked on my door and and told me to turn on the television. Her city was on fire.

If you ask me, The Iron Giant belongs a tad higher on any list than 12. I don't even wanna put the Transformers in the same sentence.

    Maybe someone here can help?

This might be the place to ask as I have a question that's been bothering me for, oh, 10 years or so now.

When I was a kid here in Sweden we had superchannel on the tv with the DJ cat show and all (my sister got a signed autograph lol!) and they showed all of these show's; mask, transformers, gi joe, you name it. I think I owe alot of my knowledge in English from being booked and watching these things at an early age... anyways... There was this show which I really want to know the name of and have tried so hard to find again that it hurts...

It was this dude (kinda heman like) who crashed on another planet (he was a pilot I think?) and there was this entire people living in a tree and he had a friend who could morph and then there was some guy (I think) who could rotate his head to get different faces and then I remember something about a flying whale who shot sonicbooms or something? I think the main guy also had some sort of sword but this can be wrong. If someone please please please could help me what that cartoons name was I'd be in great debt.

Sanjuro; wow - that story caught me totally by suprise. At first I thought it was a joke or something.

    Peace Out.

Hmm maybe I am biased against recent movies being rated high up on greatest 100 list *jerking off motion* but Toy Story, Shrek and the Iron Giant and finding nemo rated better than Akira, Aladdin, Ren and Stimpy and the Transformers? I am no fan of most of disneys shit but aladdin l337 pwns any one of those movies. I guess its just because the movies are new.

The top 5 is just right though and makes up for the rest of it

Iron Giant definitely ranks. However, I'm real partial to Ninja Scroll (big surprise, there). Maybe it's the cool atmosphere it has or just the senseless violence, I don't know. However, any movie that has people being chopped in half, ripped apart, electrocuted, smashed, encased in molten gold, and blown to bits is good by me.

God, this list is pure shite (to say it hardcore UK-style). No DuckTales? No Animaniacs? No Batman the Animated Series? Fuck that.

But Legend of the Overfiend makes it? what

Also, guys? Transformers is a lot of dopey fun, but it really, really hasn't held up so well. Don't be blinded by nostalgia, as it alone cannot carry something.

If you don't believe me, try watching the GI Joe movie rerelease. If you don't find it absolutely painful, there is clearly something wrong.

Gonna have to agree with all of the above but nostalgia and how much people remember a movie / show is one of the factors that really makes a show great.

Not really - stuff that is popular and memorable can still age pretty badly. Those of us girls who were about 10 years old in 1990 can still remember all the lyrics to New Kids on the Block songs. That doesn't mean that the music wasn't complete shit then and still isn't complete shit now. HANGIN' TOUGH

Did they change it or something?

I had always loved the Transformers movie as a kid, and one day I decided to watch it again to see if it was as badass today as it was when I was a kid.

To my satisfaction, it was just as aesome as I remembered, so I'm not sure if I follow you Summah.

    FUCK Transformers: The Movie.

There was a blog/article that explained my sentiments exactly. Yeah, kill all of my favorite autobots within the first half of the film (rather quickly and unnoticably might I add) and leave us with crappomagnus and HOT ROD. Yeah what a flamer, don't get me started... not to mention children were scarred for LIFE.

Imagine.. let's go through TV episodes where shots fly by and seem as though autobots and decepticons were engaged in a mere water gun fight only to see the movie where everyone is obliterated - Yeah, touching.
