Hi, I'm thinking of working on my spacing next and I was wondering what my fellow Yakuza clan likes to use in situations of long range whiffing and possibly go into detail about what whiffs should be punished with what long range moves.

Personally, I've been relying on 46K, but I realize there is some use for 3P+K as it has a 'mini' dash on it, giving it unexpected range.

I would like to hear your thoughts and maybe whether space->punish is really even a decent part of the Goh strategy.

    Thanks, my Japanese Gangster Family.

I usually use the 43P or the 4KG just to catch the with the counter throw.

[4][6][P] has some nasty range, great for punishing whiffs. I don't really see the point in [4][3][P] but i'm not a Goh player [IMG]

I try to use 46K when I'm just in range for it to hit, but against fast Akira or Kage players in particular I seem to quite often eat a fast move before it comes out.

When both players are a fair way apart, I tend to use 66K a lot, not only for the great range it has but I think it crumples them on CH, so you can get some meaty dmg in afterwards.

I like to start a round with [3][3][P]. It catches most backdashers.

Nice, never really saw that as an attack with much range.

    Its deceiving. [IMG]

Playing around in dojo awhile back I discovered [4][K] reaches out farther than [K]. [IMG] At least on standing dummies didn't test on crouchers but it should be he same.

I does throw out the occasional 4K now and then hoping to get that CH->hit throw, but not often...isn't it slower than 5K?

I find that 3KP is good for whiff punishes. I find myself using that after causing a whiff by backdashing and then following up with 3KP. In most cases, I usually land it as a counter which allows me to follow up with P > 46P+KP,4P for a decent amount of damage.

As a Jean player I found Goh poke/keep away/zoning game to be not that great tbh.

But I didn't look long enough to be 100% sure, so that's why I'm writing this post.
Do you guys think Goh is sensitive to zoning? Might be one of his weaknesses? Since he's pretty beast at close range.
I'm talking about move like 3K/2K/1K+G/K with Jean for exemple. Try to lend those at tip range in practice you'll be surprise ! And except from 1K+G everything is pretty safe.

How the hell do you fight a good Aoi with Goh? She can do double throws on the floor and moves out the way alot and is usually just out of reach.

Yeah i noticed I have a lot of trouble with a really good Aoi player like if you were to do a rising kick she can easily counter that kick and then do a ground throw for extra damage which is really insane just for one character.
