I need some good advice against Jeffrey players. I get stomped so hard all the time. It feels like everything jeff does beats out anything i can possibly do except a jab here and there...is there a major secret I'm missing? It's also extra brutal because he only need hit you with 2 launchers and it's over.

Thanks for any advice. The only thing I know Goh has that's any good is his knee, but only when Jeffrey does his knee, it seems, and I can't react so fast to catch it...there's gotta be other ways!

Jeffry is fucking garbage. What is giving you trouble?

Block his knee, you get a free [4][6][P] (offline), or [P][K] BT mix up or free throw.

Without walls, his throws suck. He has no lows or a throw game to make you duck, but if you expect a low, [9][P]+[K]>low throw or whatever is good damage.

At long range, [4][6][K] beats most of Jeffry's long range game, into a crumple combo. If they use [6][6][P] or other punch attacks, [4][P]+[K]+[G]>improved tsukami is decent too.

Don't forget about [P]+[K], a fast knock down that leads to 50+ damage, can snuff out a lot of oki options with correct range.

Also, Goh has an elbow that gives him great frame on counter use them.

Evade [6][6]/[3][3][G] pretty much destroys his anti-step game, aside from maybe [4][P]/[K].

Jeffry shouldn't be giving anyone trouble, it's how Sega designed him for FS.

Good advice can only be had if you give us specifics to work with and not deal in generalities, because, in general, "Jeffry is fucking garbage."

What exactly do you have problems with in the Jeffry match-up? What situation, which of Jeffry's tactics do you fail to deal with properly? And what's your overall play level?

Yeah, I can't give you specifics because it was a general beat down. hahaha

Well, at first it was every jeffrey. I played one guy's jeffrey for a while and started being extremely conservative with my play with started to make the matches more even instead of one sided, but I never got to the point where I felt like I was in control. I was in reaction mode all the time, could never mount an offense or seize control. When I played KO, he literally walked all over me. He gave me some tips about my general bad habits, and I'm trying to work on them, but certain things about jeffrey, like his tracking strings, his seemingly long range moves which have millions of active frames and shut down most of my attacks, etc. These things really cause me headaches. Please note I said seemingly. I could very well just make repeated bad choices against his long range moves.

Never said it was impossible. In VF all the characters have the tools to compete, some have it too easy, some are stuck with the bare minimum. (Especially) When trolling less experienced players, Jeffry can dominate no problem. But that can be said for any character.

Against a character like Goh (in the hands of someone who both knows their own character and this match up), Jeffry has to swim up stream. With a wall, it becomes a little better for Jeffry damage-wise (but for Goh too).
