So,I'm gonna get VF5. Last VF I played was VF2 and the demo version of VF.

I've always used characters who are more about throws (Wolf from VF2,Bayman,Leon and Bass from DoA and Zangief from SF) but I saw how Goh played and he seems to be amazing.

Is he a better thrower than Wolf and El Blaze?

No but he has a strong enough throw game that you won't be disappointed.

Can he "Throw combo" like we say in DoA?

He doesn't have multi-link throws but he does have a few hit throws.

Goh is heavily throw-emphasized. With his Tsukami Grab and 270° throws, Goh is throw wise above El Blaze.

Multi-part throws or so-called throw combos can also be found in Virtua Fighter 5. Aoi (also a heavily throw-emphasized character) comes to my mind there. To a lesser extent this applies to other chars too (Kage, El Blaze, etc.).

With Goh his Tsukami Grab comes closest to it. As well, he can apply ground throws when the opponent is down. My recommendation is that you get that VF5 disk loaded up and give all those throw-emphasized chars - like Wolf, Goh, Aoi, Jeffry, El Blaze - in VF5 a go in Dojo mode (command list training).

I don't think it's that clear cut. Goh has better damage off of his primary high throws, but blaze has more throw directions (pretty sure he's the only char with a command throw in every direction and an immediately accessible catch throw), and better damage off of his low throws.

    Fair enough.

I would like to point out that Goh has ground throws, something El Blaze lacks for the time being.

    Ground throws?

    That's very nice

I'm gonna be getting VF5 tomorrow!(But I'm gonna have to wait a little longer to get the arcade controller)

And can you explain how the multipart throws work in VF5 please?

    Thanks!

Multi-part throws begin, like normal throws, with a directional input plus /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. After the first throw animation has kicked in, depending on your character, you can continue the throw sequence with a small variety of possible throw follow-ups. For Aoi such a multi-throw sequence could look like this:
    1. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif into /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif into /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif
    2. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif into /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif into /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif

Only a few selected chars have multi-part throws, so they are something special in the game.

The defender can escape all multi-throws - same as with any normal high throw - at the beginning of the first part of it; some multi-throws are even breakable at their follow-up throw parts, such as Aoi's, but not many. To my knowledge, the longest multi-throw consists of three throw parts (i. e. Aoi).

This does not hold true for all multipart throws. For instance Leis multithrow is escapable only at the first part, the other two are unescapable.

    Mhmm

    I picked VF5 today

I didn't try all characters but I am not disappointed in Goh but I prefer Aoi!

Kage is not bad either but still Goh is amazing!

    EDIT

After playing more VF5,I have to admit..I am amazed by how well this game plays.

My main at this moment is Goh,I find Aoi's moves a little too hard for me for this moment

And can anyone tell me how to perform an offensive move? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif thank you so much guys

Nice, TEARO. Now what you need is a profound resource for looking up what is still unclear. Luckily, we got a VF5wiki around here that has everything you need to know to have a good start.

IMO Tearo the trick to getting adequate support and help from vfdc'ers comes from being willing to put in the time to get good, and asking questions in the right place. Most question such as "how to OM" can be cleared up in the shoutbox. Virtually anyone there can tell you the answer. On the otherhand, a question like, what is the best way to mix highs, and lows into goh's mid heavy repetiore is something that will not be common knowledge in the shoutbox, and be better served in a Goh dojo post. Hope this helps u. Also, u will get the answers quicker if you know where to post (something i still haven't mastered for sure). It really isn't a bad idea to run most things thru the shoutbox first.

    Yeah,sorry for that.

In the forums I've been before,no one really used the shoutbox and hey, at least I did it in an edited post and not posting a new topic just to ask that question.

Oh and for the mixture of high and low attack thingy,I didn't play long enough to understand what you mean yet :p

    Thanks though!

Tsukami Grab: 2 , ground throw either with 2pg or 3pg then finish off with 3p ( i believe thats guaranteed the 3p.. but they can break the 2pg or 3pg..)
