    Good inauguration speech.

I think America and the world is ready for him to lead.

I watched his inauguration earlier and the speech was good as always. I think Obama will do some good for us.

Best speaker we have ever had as President? Maybe!

That speech was amazing. I really enjoyed how he included the rest of the world in his speech.

The entire thing was amazing to watch...I wished I got off my lazy ass and gotten to the metro...oh well. Obama is a very eloquent speaker...but not warm.

I've never been more proud to be an American than now. I've really
think that this administration will at least get us back on the right track to reaching our potential as a country. I know that whatever I'm asked to do as a citizen to help by this administration, if it is within my power I will do it.

BTW I think Obama would probably be either a AOI or Kage player
if he played VF. Wouldn't be a trip if we found out he was a fighting game nut :)

I genuinely wish him the best of luck but I really want to see if he can back up the hype he is spitting out. Once I see a president (regardless of their race or gender) that really does all he can for the American people then he will get my full support, until I see that I will question if he get the reforms through that he says he will.

I voted for him and I don't regret my decision in anyway not yet anyway.

I assume your "why?" references my statement that I've never been so proud as American. If not let me know.

If that is what you asking here why..

The fact that in America people of African descent were originally treated and assumed to be less than human, treated like property cattle in some cases not even as good as you would treat a horse and that there has been in this country a history of hate for African Americans and others of African descent it is
a great step forward for America when they have volunatarily (in the voting booth) (Not as a result of some law or affirmative action mandate) Vote for and put in office a President who has some African blood.

That means that in addition to America's greatness in other areas
we now will begin to turn the page on a very dark chapter of the American racist psyche.

Yea, its not that I haven't been proud of America before. Our accomplishment during Apollo 13, the recent Mars missions were other great moments of pride for me, but I've never been prouder of America than I am right now. Because the African slave trade and treatment of Africans after being brought to America is the most heinous and dispicable act America has ever committed. American knows it, the whole world knows it.

Its not that an African American President will change the past, its just that he gives us hope for a better future, one where African Americans can fully participate in helping America be all that it can and a future where African Americans can be judged by their capabilities and the content of their character not the color of their skin.

Master Po, great post. Very well said. I think the "Why" was towards your "Aoi and Kage" Statement. That what I'm assuming.

Good post mate but the "Why?" was actually toward the Aoi and Kage thing :p
We're not so concerned with interior american politics here in Europe (no offense), but we know that your republicans should be happy to give a so fucked up international situation to Obama.
That'll be a tough test for his diplomatic skills.

Lol, very true but I think it applies to more than just a "fucked up international situation". Republicans should be extremely happy to give the reigns to Dems right now.

Anyway, good luck to Barry Obama... my real father /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Edit: I don't always agree with the things that Jason Whitlock writes but this is a really good quote from something he wrote recently:
"Sometimes we take too much delight in bashing America's shortcomings rather than celebrating its strengths."

I don't care how much others hate America and want to judge it for it's ugly past. This is a new America. An America that it's made of more than just it's government. It's a country made of more than just the negative things that the cynics focus on. It's America the free, freedom does reign here and I am extremely proud of our freedom of speech. It's America the brave, we will defend our way of life.

If you don't love this country, gtfo and if you're not in this country, who are you to judge? Do you think that you really know America? You don't see America from the inside out. As an outsider, you don't know what really makes this country great.

yea Obamas cool....the Governor of the V.I gave us the day off yesterday. School was closed and shit. It was crazy. The V.I is like 80% black or something so muh-fukas are acting crazy like shit! This is a great time to be a soldier. I felt extra proud today wearing my uniform. My commander and Chief is black. that's fucking nuts!

I am excited....but skeptical. Living right outside of D.C I am used to a lot of promises. Obama will either be the greatest president since Washington or the biggest failure since Nixon...or Maybe Taft...
