In the wake of Arcade Infinity's demise, I was talking with someone about Round 1 arcade. I'd seen that they got a SSF4:AE machine and a GuitarFreaks XG. I learned that Round 1 is a Japanese arcade and they have direct distributors.

My response: "So where the fuck is VF5:FS?!"

    The answer: "Ask for it."

    I love the internet.

I went here and used the e-mail prominently displayed in the left column.

My e-mail included this: "Please bring in a Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown machine. I've read that it will come to console and there is no release date yet. I will come to play it."

Please call or e-mail and ask them for it as well. Then move to SoCal so you can play it. In the mean time, I'm back to work on the DVD.

Dude that is so fucking random. I'm in! It seems like everybody is getting AE all over the place. Capcom is making it readily accessible.

Also note that they look legit. They have crane and plush games. That alone is what keeps many arcades alive, well that and a liquor license.

AI should have talked about working with CUE in order to stay alive, but I guess CUE isn't hurting these days.

Also VFDC don't be a bunch of haters, we should be writing emails in the hundreds like we did for the petition. At least this business is taking us somewhat seriously. So start writing. Myke put this shit up man we need FS in Socal!

Hate to say it but this thread is futile. [IMG]

You can't buy a FS setup unlike other arcade games. Sega only leases the game to arcade operators. Sega will not lease FS to an international market.

I'm sure the operators at Round1 are unaware of this.

Even if someway there where to get there hands on the hardware, the game won't boot up unless its registered to VF.net servers I believe via a Japanese static IP address.

Only FS in SoCal? Wow way to think inside the box. We Need this game in America period but What Shag said is the truth. I doubt Sega is in the mood to set up a internet structure for this game in the Dying arcades of America.

After understanding how this game is Run.. One VF machine Will need 2 cabinets and a online set up. With 5 games thats ten machine and you will need a T1 modem to run this set up. Wow i can imagine how much thought goes into this for Data purposes.

I guess Sega would have to treat this thing like a lottery machine.

Well, Round 1 is Japanese. Someone in charge will know. If there is even a chance to get arcade FS here, this is it. I know about the VFNet/all.net network, IP requirements, etc.

Round 1 managed to bring in this. I've been there to play it. Konami also has a JPN network for their games (not sure it is as tight as the SEGA network). All the GuitarFreaks machines at AI over the last few years were bootlegged/hacked/etc. This one appears legit.

Even though I can't travel like I want to, I just want to see a damn VF game out of Japan! Did my part.

I'd be surprised if this is even beyond a pipedream. It's been very well documented how tightly controlled R and FS are. Just because Round1 is a Japanese company it doesn't follow that importing FS and having it activated online falls within their abilities.

I'd also like to add a word of caution to those thinking of adding their voices to the "give us an FS machine" chorus: Please have some sympathy to the owners of Round 1 in California and request this only if you are within the area. They are business operators, they invest in games for their business with an idea of making a profit on them. If they get flooded with requests to bring in a game and they can do that they will (win) but if the bulk of requests come from people who are out of state/country then it is a false decision (lose).

At the very least, be clear where the requests are coming from so the company can make a real decision based on accurate information.

This reminds me when some on VFDC said that Arcade Infinity would never get VF4Evo or Vf4FT and guess what they did. I also believe they made a profit on those purchases.

True VFFS has different rules and such, but also remember that Sega is looking to expand the arcade business to other Asian countries besides Japan. Perhaps by them opening up to this market it will also make it easier for Round1 USA to import the game to the U.S.

meh. FT was a super easy import. super easy. like, do you have money for the kit? here you go.

I'm not here to poop in anyone's cornflakes I just said I would be surprised if it was possible and thought people should maybe not spam a business with a lot of investment requests without being transparent about where they live and the likelihood of them adding to the ROI.

Belief in profit and true profit are night and day.

Sorry to say but R and FS are programmed to not work without all.net outside japan and also need a licensed dongle which you can only get from sega. Those chinese guys that bought an R board last year haven't been able to get the game working or we would have heard about it on here by now. Sega is all about money and unfortunately, the few thousand bucks one machine here might make of us lowly US vfers is just not enough in their eyes. There is still an arcade scene in korea and china and thats why sega is looking there for possible arcade profits. Arcades are clearly something on the decline in this country and sega is well aware. Not to mention, the vf series has never really made any money for sega in the US arcades and Sega is well aware of this too.

When NyC gets a round1 that wants people to chime in on what games they purchase, you better believe I will be the first to say something. Also Socal is better [IMG]

Fuck VF.net, we'll hack that shit!

Nah nah nah, don't tell them where you live, just bombard them with request. I'm totally ok with doing that. That would be the VF socal jump off if we got that here.

cool. you do things your way and deceive the operators of the aracade so you potentially get what you want.

And I'll just send them the link to this post so they can see why not to build a relationship with anyone that emails them about a particular game.

Nobody responds to email request. I have worked in an arcade management for 6 years in my area. We received emails, paper mail, phone calls, phone call messages, post in other fighting game message boards(SRK) to carry a myriad of games; which we subsequently ignored. Lol. Please try not to take what I say seriously. Even though I am serious lol.

VFFS Socal lets get em. Fuck em!
