So I took a couple of months break but have been VF hungry for the last couple of days. It seems I've come back with improved TE skills though! [IMG]

Anyway this is a thread for people playing me to comment on what I could do better.

Trust me there's no love loss if you suggest I do many things differently. [IMG]

It would be cool if I could get general tips rather than Sarah-exclusive tips but aslong as it benefits me I don't mind.

It would be pretty cool if some of you playing me could record some matches and put them on youtube aswell for the people on here that are good but don't play on XBL to analyse.

    Let the criticism begin!

Start from basics. From playing you last night i'd recommend more fuzzy guarding. Knowing when to fuzzy is important too. Use the moves list filters you should fuzzy after on block hit and CH.

Knowing the ways to respond to general moves like P 2P elbow midkick and OM P/K is a good place to start.

I can play you some day again. Sarah right? Sarah doesnt have many moves after which she MUST fuzzy guard. Mainly her standard elbow.. I don't remember your playstyle anymore so I cant say more without playing you again.

Okay here's something for you guys to help me with.

Right now string attacks are my huge weakness.

If someone picks Jacky/El Blaze/Vane/Lei I may aswell not even be playing.

I just played Hitakarra Kage and I remember when he used to use Kage and I would beat him consistantly but now he is using Blaze and he pisses me off so much...

It annoyed me so much after the games he said GG's to me and I did not even reply.

As soon as I've blocked a couple of moves in a string my mind says "enough of this bullshit I want to hit you in the face now!" ... Then I get CH'd. Not fun.

How do I beat this rubbish? Do I really have to learn EVERY annoying/useful string in the game and remember the hit properties of them all to be able to beat them?

What annoys me even more is I know that once I do stop being a punching bag to string attacks and actually take the necessary predcautions to beat them that the other player (if they're any good) will start delaying the attacks in the string or stop mid-way through it then mid or throw me.

    For El Blaze:

The string bullshit is all mindgames, mindgames that work a bit more in Blaze's favor online, but if you know what your options are and what the consequences will be, it's okay (I think, haven't really played VS blaze in a while).

Basically, the strings you're gonna have trouble with will be:

    3p+kpk
    4kpp
    4pk(p)

    And rarely 2kpk.

    A bit about each string:

    3p+kpk:

    mid-high-mid.

If you block the first attack, you can duck under the second.

If you block them both, it's a mixup whether blaze will finish the string or not.

If you get hit by the string ender, you'll be put into a stagger. If you stagger it, you'll be in large disadvantage. If you don't, Blaze gets a big combo.

If you block the string ender: Blaze is at -13, punish accordingly.

3p+kp is -4 on guard and -2 on hit, you don't have a lot of time to react and the rewards for guessing right probably won't be big.

4kpp: same as above this is a mid-high-mid string, so the same strategy pretty much applies.

Ender gives a combo on any hit and is -14 on block, 4kp is -1 on hit and -3 on guard, so even less time to react.

4pk: this one is a bit different, as you can't avoid the mixup if you guard the first hit (you can by ducking the followup in the first two strings). The second hit is a fullcircular mid.

I want to explain everything, but it's all already written in the blaze strategy guide, so check that one out.

As for the last string, it's a mix of the first two (it's low-high-mid) and 4pk (because the ender goes to rocket discharge).

Sorry I'm not really going into much detail, I don't really feel like going into a lot of detail, but I'm sure other people can help you out with what moves you should use to scare the blaze player.

    Good luck!

Their are a few guidelines about strings in VF that might help you remember some of the characters strings. As opposed to Tekken no character have a string that will ever go from Low to mid or mid to low (except for elieen but even then its easy to see coming because she has to go to a stance). so if you ever block a low or get hit with a low during a string you don't have to worry about a follow up mid within that same string and vice versa.

    Quoting for vital info.

I never enven noticed that. It will come in useful though.

    That's not true.

    I atleast know Kage does.

And if they go into a stance, does that even count as a string?

    Even still, Kage.

    Jacky can do it infact.

    Mid, high, Low.

That's not mid to low, or low to mid. There's the high there

Oh, right. He means straight from mid to low or vice versa.

    Makes more sense.

Shit I never noticed that either, few exceptions then but rock on.

Hazzerone I'd say you need to throw more. In
all our matches I don't think you threw me once. Try to pay attention to your opponents habits more. I get by on that alone to be honest since my reaction time blows.

Also box step and the like to bait whiffs. After playing the new
and improved Cosby he's more movement oriented. It really changes the game if you become more mobile.

That way you can stay away from gay little meta games like my
p, 2p, 6p bullshit that I really have to stop doing.

    Akira's AS3 is special low > mid > mid

Lei's Doku [2] [K] is low and transitions to Hai which has mid attacks.

Pai's [6] [6] [P] [+] [K] is low and transitions Bokutai which has mid attacks.

Also Pai's Bokutai actually has a sweep > MDP attack.

    Also Pai's [3] [P] [K] is low > special high

ALSO said move can be charged to become a true mid.

Sarah's flamingo seems to have some sort of high-low-mid-high attack. I'm just calling them as i see them btw.

    Shun's [K] [K] [2] [P] [K] is high high low special mid.

Sarah can make any sort of attack pattern that she wants to, HIGH, MID, LOW property wise. That's where her random factor lies, imo.

If you guard the low, the rest don't hit, and she's knee class punishable.

Yo, the whole point of me posting was to inform you about the Sarah part because you said "seems," and I played Sarah.

Now it's looking like you trying to bait or something. It attracted attention because you said 'seem' and you didn't even name the move or any inputs, as you did for the rest of your list, until after the fact.

I think he means go from low to mid or mid to low without a transition.
