Are you as excited as I am? I really hope they make up for Season 2 finale tonight. Season 2 started off so good, but just dwindled down to bleh we don't have enough time let's just end it. I normally don't watch much television, but this show has definitely made me turn on the tube again since it's season 1 premiere show.

Am I the only Heroes lover on here? Share your thoughts for what might end up being one incredible night on NBC prime time. Has there ever been a 3 hour season premiere?

Dude, cant wait. I have been so amped on this season. The writers are back in full swing and things are looking good! I too hope they make up for the failure that was Season 2. Most importantly I hope they have more then 13 episodes!!! The first season was 22 I believe, I need that love in season 3.

I'm waiting for Heroes tonight too!!!!!!!!

Actually I felt bored about prison break now..... stupid story comes out this season. But I have to say the first two seasons are really good!!!!

Does anybody watch the Fringe???? It's not bad so far and I think it's pretty relative with X-files.

I was so hype during the first season, but the finale was dookie. 2nd season didn't really keep me interested either. I'm thinking I'm gonna pass on season 3.

just found out that there is a 1 hour count down, probably a catch up or final episode of season 2. THEN a 2 hour season premier! Bad ass!!

I'm a bit in the same boat. Although I'm trying to use it as a reason to not do over time tonight.

    Me three.

I'll give the first couple of EPs a go.

S4 of Prison Break started off at 100 miles an hour, and now it's grinding down to a halt since we know the rest of the season is all about finding the other cards, one-by-bloody-one. The asian hacker dude is a royal pain in the ass, and his little mobile black-hole device is just plain insulting. I've seen better storylines in 8bit beat 'em ups.

Oh man, the new season started with a major WTF. I'm very curious on how this turns out. Very.

WOW! Loved the new episodes. Only thing that bugged me was the stupid rehash of "The Fly". I swear I thought I was watching that movie all over again every time they skipped to the Mohinder story line. But over all those 2 hours beat out all of season 2 fail. Woot! Can't wait for next week.

Auvii, were you really that impressed?

It's the same ol' Heroes formula:

We see glimpses of a dark future, with the "heroes" trying to save it, again. Oh yeah, the Cheerleader is special, again.

With what was shown, you can already see how the rest of the series will play out.

Now we have super Mohinder and his inject-a-hero serum with nasty side effects (who knew!). Not to mention new ways to bore you with Nikki's story line, Escaped villains wreaking havoc on the innocent (Gee, can't wait to see how that develops!), and more comedic (yawn) antics from the Hiro and Ando show.

And it wouldn't be Heroes without some randomly coincidental but at the same time in-your-face mysterious symbol sightings.

The story keeps taking 1 step forward, then 20 steps sideways. Now I've just come to the realisation that I'm fast becoming a Heroes Hater /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif (if not one already!)

I suppose my biggest draw is the comic book vibe it gives off. I can agree with what you say regarding the formula but it still pulls me in. I also remember season 2 and like I said that season was absolutely horrible so this move back towards the season 1 progression is much better. The 2 hour premier helped as well. The fact that it will change to 1 hour next week ( aka 30 minutes of commercials, 28 minutes of show time, 2 minutes of credits) may change my opinion.

BUT you reminded me of my hatred for the Niki storyline. Its just...stupid. Her power for two seasons was being a schizo. The writers probably realized this failure and obviously gave her that new touch we seen. As for Mohinder, his new arch is horrible. I go back to what I said earlier about "The Fly". Seriously its near identical to how the first half of that movie unfolds. The only thing he is missing is the transportation machine. Pretty lame.

Anyhow I am coming at this season with a lot of optimism in the hopes of the writers taking this season to a new level. Despite its small annoyances I have some faith it will turn out great.

If I could chop myself in half without dying I would. That's how I feel about season 3. While I am very excited to have the show back on the air(been waiting for this since season 2 left), I don't know if I like what I am seeing so far. They really need to stop with the anime style(naruto in particular) cliff hanger episodes all the time. Everything keeps going off on a tangent like Myke said, often leaving you with more and more questions which often only receive 1/4 or 1/2 the answer by the time they get to it. I don't mind jumping around from story to story, plot to plot... but FUCK! give us a little more info / closure as to what is unfolding. If they are expecting me to log into NBC.com to be apart of the Heroes online experience just to get more answers or additional information... well they have another thing coming to them.... IT'S CALL GO FUCK YOURSELF AND KISS MY ASS! I'm really trying not to hate on the show, because I absolutely love it! Modern day X-men with great special effects, but really they need to focus more so on answers and insight than on questions and creating new villains or powers.

Well as you can see I am torn right down the middle. Hopefully in a few more episodes they get this dangerously lame formula for telling the story down to a point where it makes sense. Everything seems to be repeating all over again. WTF didn't we just drop someone in the middle of no where last season? HELLO HIRO IN 17TH CENTURY OR WHERE THE FUCK HE TIME JUMPED TO! Now I have to sit here and watch this Matt Parkman shit all over again! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I stopped watching this show mid-way through season 2. The writing was never without holes but in Season 2 they really just thought they could do no wrong. I was almost intrigued by the return for season 3 but almost equated to me spending more time on the pre-air of Dexter and eps 1-3 of True Blood. much much more satisfying I think.

Lost and Heroes both really became victims of their own success and the North American production model (infinite episodes, no resolution, lots of people writing a shared world with no process to ensure continuity) and you can see this in that self-lauding, "we're awesome" party they threw themselves on Monday. Kring (heroes creator) aplogized to fans and said he'd use the strike as a means of getting everyone back on track but talking with the people who kept watching it was just more of the same. Such a shame. For all of it's warts I enjoyed most of season 1 and had pretty high hopes for season 2.

Jeph Loeb should burn in hell. and they should really stop ripping off X-men story arcs.

So Myke how would you continue the storyline for Heroes??
Maybe you rather go for the Smallville type storyline.
aka Each episode is different with a happy ending. Where only the first and last episodes continue the story?
I'm sure the Mohinder fly like storyline is done on purpose just to get people talking and then have a huge surprise during the season. Btw spanish girls are hot
The theme for Season 3 is Villians...now we find out who is good and who is bad and then you rap up the entire series in Season 4.
Its only the first two episodes... let it build up. The writers seem to know what they are going towards.
Btw all comics tend to rip off each others story arcs.

I don't know what Myke would do but I think I would start with better writers!

So I just watched the first 16 minutes of ep 1. "the Second Coming" and I have some questions.

Why does a polymorph/teleporter/timestopper run from his assailants, take live shots where he might miss, "disguise" himself with a hat and jacket?

Was it ever explained how no one that ever had possession of LEGENDARY SWORDSMAN TAKEZO KENSEI's sword ever looked at the sword hilt, could read kanji, opened the hilt and intercepted the messages Ando was able to read? Did Bill and Ted have time travel right all along?

Was it ever explained why anyone puts any weight on the artist's paintings at all when it became obvious (in season 2) that he depicted TWO completely different and contradictory futures happening concurrently and neither of them could be realized? I thought maybe they'd explained it through alternate timelines, parallel dimensions or some rot but now that I'm 20 minutes in I see that it's still the future.

Why does any one keep half a formula that, if discovered, could destroy the world? why not destroy the formula? I get that it may be explained later on but I have my doubts and won't be around for it at any rate.

There's a lot to nitpick but I can't watch much more of it (by the way, I love Sylar being stopped by thin doors and a chain - hahaha).
